The sharp noise of the speaker once again reaches your ears.

"So... you've had a little time now to process what has just happened. The fact that one of you, who was standing with you in this very room merely hours ago, is now dead. Hopefully you've come to the conclusion that the stage is your only salvation. If so, good. You're thinking along the right track.

Now... there is one last thing I feel I should warn you about. I didn't mention it yesterday because I knew you wouldn't believe me until you'd seen for it for yourself. Well, now you have. The night time. At the Comedy Club. You've lived through it.

The dark.

You may have felt it. It may have been quite subtle. Maybe not. That... unease. The feeling that the darkness is a little... darker than usual. A little thicker. That slight queasiness in your stomach that something about the dark here is... unnatural.

That's your instinct kicking in. Warning you. Because you're right.

Allow me to introduce to you... The Darkness.

It is... more. More than simply a lack of light. It is dangerous. And it is hungry. A hunger that can never be sated. And it feeds at night, one at a time.

The Darkness is the reason we lose so many comedians and have to find so many new batches. If it weren't for it, we'd have much less hassle on our hands. But it's always been the case. It's always been here. Ever since the start of the Comedy Club. And it's always been devastating.

In fact, The Darkness is... probably exactly how Omni died. Probably. Exceptions tend to be fairly rare. Either way, an evil claimed his life. That's all you need to understand the predicament you're in. All of you.

The people who want to murder you, the ones I've spoken about. They work for The Darkness. They... adore it. As I said when you first arrived. They're not in their right mind. The Darkness has already gotten to them, but not killed them. Used them.

I don't understand the details. I barely understand The Darkness itself. I'm not entirely sure if it is an entity of its own or whether it is something... lurking within it. I can't tell you. All you need to know is that it is dangerous. Deadly. And that, your only hope of surviving it, is to rid it of its servants.

Some of you will still refuse to believe me, in spite of what you've seen. That's your choice. But in that case... tonight... turn your flashlight off. During the night time, when you're sealed off in the room that you're in, with the people you're with. Turn it off. See if you can bring yourself to do it.

Or whether instinct stops you.

If it does, listen to it. It will keep you alive. Well. Hopefully.

One final thing you should know. The out of bounds areas. Whilst they are out of bounds for the vast majority of you, the servants of the Darkness can in fact enter them. So let that be a little warning to you.

In fact, the reason those rooms are out of bounds is - well. Perhaps this is stretching it too far. But I suppose there's no harm in telling you.

The sole reason those rooms are closed off for the night is because they are simply too dark. During the morning, shortly after the power has revitalised the Club, a darkness so thick, so viscous, has suffocated those rooms. Even the lights in them cannot stop it. And more rooms suffer a similar fate as the day goes on, and night approaches. Entering those rooms, for those of you with an in tact soul, is not an option. You would die instantly. And your soul knows it. But... for The Darkness' servants, they have no living soul to worry for.

I know, I know. Souls. A Darkness that kills people. For some of you this will sound like utter nonsense. Make-believe. Stuff of mere nightmares. Well, the for the latter you're probably right. But it'll be those people, the ones who try to rationalise it away, the ones who refuse to believe it, who will get themselves killed.

Take my word for it or don't. Remember the last time you were given that choice, and which option turned out to be the correct one. That's all I have to say on that matter.

And... that's it, really. I think that's the last piece of information I'll have for you. Well, aside from informing you of the body count and whatnot.

But enough chit-chat. The performance grows nearer. They are waiting, and this time, they will not be denied a show. So make your choice. And if you left your flashlight behind, make sure to take a new one."

The microphone switches off.

I will visit this room: Basement, or library if basement is off limits for some reason
I will read this page: 12
Vote hipmeow
I agree that we do need to get serious about sending someone on stage. I think one of Mooglie, Paige and hip is the best idea here, since that's the only real hunch we have to go off of. I'm generally inclined to trust Mooglie given that he's been informative and seems like he's leading town in a positive direction. So I'll be open to lynching either Paige or hip. I'm voting hip for the moment to avoid starting a pile on someone, but I'll switch my vote to paige if I hear a compelling argument to do so.

I would assume that the mafia/servants of darkness had some say over omni's death - rng decided death would make no sense IMO. Obviously we shouldn't rule out the idea that mafia can kill someone outside their room, but I think exploring the idea of killing people within the same room shouldn't be ruled out either.

im wondering if there is a possibility of escape by using a megapowered light to charge the solar panels and then open the door
Would that actually work?

Am I to understand that this means that all the rooms which were closed off last night will be closed off this night as well?

I'm going to advocate against voting hip, given that he and I have the same role and I'm town aligned.

And in light of Omni's role, I really don't think we should be looking in-room for suspects. Imo it's pretty obvious from both a flavor and mechanical standing that mafia can kill just about whoever they want. Personally, I have a bad feeling about Stranger.

I will visit this room: I'd like to go somewhere where I can gather items that aren't cogs. Basement, maybe?
I will read this pamphlet: 6, if no one already has it for today.

How so? I think the fact that Omni had the ability to prevent intruders from entering his room during the night makes it more likely that Omni was killed by someone in his room.

So you think he used his ability the same night he was murdered? Would omni have mentioned that if he did that?

The way you find items at the end of the night suggests he wasn't able to.

He had no wire with which to use his ability.
And the fact that his ability exists points to the mafia being able to enter rooms that aren't theirs.

There's one thing I'm confused about - how did Omni communicate that he had his item if he didn't find it until the end of the night?
I wasn't given any opportunity to communicate with HK or Tim about my item.
He didn't?
We know his ability costs one wire to use. We don't know that he actually had one.
