I mean I claimed in the basement chat but if you want me to spell it out then sure. I'm Cultist and I don't know my ability (but I have requirements for unlocking it).
My reads:
-Notty, town read. They've felt genuine town from the get-go and they seem to play how they would if they're town.
-Ltin, town read. While I was initally mad for them for joining the basement at first, they were open and helpful in the basement chat last night so I'm inclined to be more positive about them being scum.
-hipmeow, town read. They seem townie to me.
-Stranger from Planet 9, neutral. While I've had scum vibes on them in previous games that turned out to be correct, I do not have the same vibes on them this game, but not comfortable enough to put them as town.
-Webpaige, minor scum vibes.
-Sessybessy, minor scum vibes(?).
Rest I don't have much of a read on <3

Unless all three are scum which seems too rigid of a naming structure in a setup like this, a common theme in this setup is the normal and the fantastic elements. Omni's role was grounded in reality while several claims are wilder. Therefore, Notty's ability that I was confused about the ability to work across rooms doesn't look as strange.
Meanwhile the darkness is heavily implied to have a magical element to it, would there be a technological aspect to the evils in this game that we haven't seen yet?

It's a flavour setup, it's a not a cultist as in the role cultist

however the quote does seem to imply that this cult (despite thirsting for blood) is independent/in competition with the darkness (for blood so its still not all that good) so thats uhhh semi-good??

Also does that not suggest that there is a 3rd party aspect to the game? Therefore town is under more threat than we first thought?

No I did not.
Because I received my item at the end of night phase and didn't have a chance to use it.
Also, on re-reading the ability it might be a passive ability that I don't have control over.
I need to visit each of the corners in the building and only 1 person can be in the room with me at the same time. Mainly the reason I wanted to visit Notty on the first night in the basement, although my plan was sadly ruined when Ltin also joined in. After I received a wire I was informed that I could also use 3 batteries (initially confused it with wires) and instead only visit two corner rooms to unlock my ability.
Inffy confirmed that it's passive. IDK if it consumes my item.
