So, how the TnT system currently works is that the team with the most good players always wins, it's almost always that one person that is very good carries the whole team to victory because the opponents keep getting killed by that person.
I had an idea to change this, which gives newer/less good players a chance to actually really win a round instead of either being carried or totally being destroyed by someone on the other team. To do this, I had the idea to rework how personal points and team score works.
My idea is that people that are doing very well in a round in K/D should be worth a lot more points (and score for the team) than people that are doing quite bad and have a very low K/D that round. This can motivate less good players to focus someone that is on rampage on the opposite team with heavier weapons (because you would also gain more points for killing the person using expensive weapons is do-able). This also motivates good people to actually be more careful the more kills they get because they can end up dying and giving a lot team score to the enemy team. Right now good people almost never die by just holding spacebar to jump and avoid all TnT and pistols (other weapons are barely used)
I think this would add a lot more strategy to the game instead of the 'one man army' destroying the other team and farming points all day long. It would motivate people to work together to get strong enemies down. It would also motivate people to actually use stronger weapons and maybe even profit from them. (Now they are only used for fun, else only pistols or TnT is used)
Of course this would mean the whole point, score and store system would need to be redone. A good idea would be that for example a person starts with a worth of 16 team score (so if the opposite team kills him, they get 15 points for their team) and it would go down with 2 for every death the person has, and go up 1 for every kill the person has. On personal points (what you use to buy items in the /store), I would say something similar, only then starting at 10 points and decreasing with 1 on death and increasing with 1 when the player kills someone. Of course there should be a cap on this so the player is always worth at least 2-3 points or something. Killing spree's would need to be reworked too.
This would be quite a lot work, I know. But I think it will be definitely worth all the hard work because -I think- it would add a lot excitement, strategy and teamwork to the game.
Pros:
- Adds more strategy, excitement and teamwork to the game.
- Stops good players from farming points on newer players.
- Motivates the use of different and stronger weapons on hard to kill targets.
- Makes it harder to totally own and carry as good player than right now.
Cons:
- Would be quite a lot work.
- Some people wouldn't like to be totally focussed for what they are worth.
Discuss! (also, please don't just look at the numbers, it are just examples that might work out)
