Alkatraz' Resignation Thread

As mentioned in the announcement, the removal of Classic TNT and transition to Premium TNT will be when I resign from staffing on TNT Wars. I feel it is a natural conclusion to my time staffing after nearly 2 and a half years staffing here.

I am not resigning due to the change to Premium, on the contrary I definitely think a change to Premium and incorporating all the new features of Premium Minecraft is a fantastic step forward.
Having staffed on Elysium and SMP for a while means I know how much more Premium can offer us. And I hope that Premium TNT grows into something more than just a copy of Classic TNT and instead blossoms with it's own innovation.

I first joined the Blocktopia staffing team back when we were TheOnes on Nov 6th 2010, and have staffed TNT Wars ever since. Recently I also staffed SMP and helped plan and then staff as Questmaster on Journey to Elysium. It has all been a fantastic experience, and I have got to know a lot of different people from all around the globe.

It seems the done thing to mention people in a resignation thread, but just drafting a list of people made me realise that there are a lot of you, and I didn't want to leave anyone out.

This isn't really a goodbye, just an extended "holiday". I'll still pop into the IRC and onto servers every now and then, but my free time, and my interests in Minecraft have been diminished over the last month or so, so a bit of rest and recuperation is in order.

In the mean time I plan on finishing the second year of my Maths degree at University, perhaps knocking a bit of time off my 1:28:08 Half Marathon, and just generally taking a break from Minecraft.

At least I have enjoyed the quests you have created and hopefully others did too. You have done a great job to the community, and it would be a great wish to have more people like you around!

Seriously, you are amazing alkatraz. I am so thankful for everything you have done for Classic TNT. You put up with me on so many different occasions, even when asking to do everything I couldn't or answering the many questions I may have had. x3 The presence you brought to TNT is something I will miss over on PTNT. You are an extremely friendly person and indeed a dedicated worker and for that, I always looked up to you. (Now who will make cool google docs of information!? )

What an amazing person. Just from being around in irc or the server you created a wonderful atmosphere and it will be greatly missed. It is fair to say you have a wonderful sense of humour and the work you have done for TNT particularly is greatly admirable to say the least!

The fact that you have staffed TNT, kept your brother In order and studied maths all at the same time is incredible and I hope you are able to fulfil your potential In whatever you do!

I don't think I ever got to work with you on SMP. I actually had that privilege when you became the very first Questmaster in Elysium. You've done a great job with the quests, and I know that whoever succeeds you will have quite the legacy to follow.

You were one of the first TNT staff members I'd met waaaay back in the summer of 2011 when I first joined, and you've been there ever since. In fact, you were one of the people who later inspired me to staff the server.
