Okay, seriously...
What is going on here?
The one day I don't have a break during the school day; Marn's response was posted, and despite the post everyone was basically waiting for, it appears like it was pretty much ignored, and surging forth out of no-where, a bandwagon appears! And man, this has been a pretty large bandwagon. I'll get to that point later in this post, because I want to clear up some things in this post myself. The topics will most likely all flow and emphasize into the main point, just as a heads up.
Before I actually get into the discussion, I just want to point out my stance on the matter. There have been 2 large debates on whom to lynch today, and as I already discussed my view on the previous, I want to give my idea on the recent debacle. I, in whole, do not believe Prizyms is guilty, and actually, people are overly exaggerating the scenario. I just wanted to get that out of the way first. Now let's continue.
First of all, I just want to state that we should really stop using the, "oh, those players are quiet," as an excuse to blame them for guilt, suspicion, and etc.
Seriously, its basically the one giant stereotype among any Mafia Game between the players and gamer's of that particular round / gaming session.
I don't suppose we believe every person who crosses our paths, whether they cross us in a game, in life, or in any other circumstance; just because they are quiet, does that automatically make them suspicious of hiding something? No. Actually, we rarely think that. Most of the time we just think they are shy, maybe it's just apart of their personality, and they really just don't want to talk, or perhaps just simply has nothing to say that would actually benefit or add anything to the conversation at hand.
I know this example is fairly out of context, and it does not relate to this thread very much, but it gives off a good idea of this stereotypical judgement we pass down, such as in the situation we are apart of now, as that is what I am currently believing, mainly on the latter statement.
Let us actually take a look at the evidence Sploorky brought forth as he voted for Prizyms.
I have read through the thread and nothing much has popped out at me. I'll go for a NO LYNCH.
Let us recall what the discussion up to the point of this post of Prizyms was:
-----
1) We began, and once I am saying this, Dessern began shortly off the bat accusing my person as one of the Zombies this round.
2) People jumped on, it was a bit of a bandwagon, but there was some visual ideas backing up his statements.
3) Alpha stepped in and cleared up the misconceptions on his storyline, and Dessern and the other townsfolk apologized for their rashness and retracted their statements, ending that theory...
4) ...Until Defiant brought it up again, and voted for the one and truly Dessern!
5) I disagreed, and tried to fight back against the Dessern claims.
6) Defiant stepped down, and we decided to await Marn's response. The discussion / misconception really should have ended around this section of the thread, but it may or may not have eyeing some other posts.
-----
Now, it was only shortly after this point in time in which Prizyms replied with the statement above. Now, let us return to what I was previously discussing: the stereotype we, and others use in Mafia Games, and how we normally single out quiet or uncertain players. My reasoning, basing off of this, as well as the events that unfolded:
During the Dessern confrontation and conflict, misconceptions and ideas were generally, to a point, solved. There was really not exactly a lot of information or basis to state anything other then what was already said in the preceding arguments, so I can see why Prizyms most likely had nothing else to add on, and decided, with the information given in the thread, to go off on a whim and vote for a "No Lynch."
And I know what will be coming. You will most likely argue and state this really has no real basis, and is generally an "if" statement, or guess, or etc, and is really just an event that is specifically situational, however, if you look closely, there are some points involved with this theory.
Moving on: The bandwagon on Prizym's really has very little evidence. Sploorky really only brought forth a single statement, and although his reasoning seems sound, it really does not seem legitimate enough with only a single piece of evidence to place a crucial role on. Dessern even had more information and ideas against him, and in the end I feel we have resolved that issue with the misconceptions, even though there are still some votes of people against him, which i'm fine with, as it is indeed their opinion on who they feel is suspicious, and they are entitled to that.
As Defiant previously stated, there is really not a lot to base to vote Prizyms off. I also don't feel it is worth lynching Dessern off if he truly is the doctor, which in my thoughts he most likely appears to be it, and if he isn't the doctor, we will most likely find out in 1-2 turns or so just be seeing who dies in the night, so it seems I am against both ideas of lynching one or the other.
I have decided to make my final vote, unless a new point of reasoning comes out, with a No Lynch.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
With that all aside, I want to bring up some suspicions of my own, as I haven't really done so since my first real post after the whole Dessern situation. It might also start up some other conversations that may lead into new reasoning idea's on whom may be apart of the Mafia, or just start up an interesting conversation around the idea.
Currently: I am debating over some of my hunches on who possibly are Mafia. These people I've only been thinking recently of as the Mafia team due to some posts, and previous ideas / etc.
They are...
  • Duffie
  • Sploorky
  • Vati180 or Paceboys.
They are just honestly hunches of mine, and there is really nothing I can say on the matter, as I cannot give any reasonable proof or truth behind them, because really, they are just thoughts. I really didn't even want to place down a 3rd line of people I suspect, as I know they would most likely be false names, but I decided to take a chance with my thoughts. These really should not be taken seriously unless you have a similar opinion / possible evidence / etc, but really it's all up to you.
I have really nothing else to say on the matter besides just repeating that I do not agree with the Dessern / Prizy lynching, and again, I am taking a No Lynch stance in a hope for more information to come up, and we can take more reasonable actions.
And this has been like-- The most productive and strange first day of any Mafia game I have ever seen; both on a forums, in real life, and... anywhere!
I feel so proud of you guys.
If I was mafia, I wouldn't be trying so hard to prevent Dessern from being lynched(Unless he was mafia, of course). Now, it's true, Prizyms doesn't have much behind him. I found that line suspicious. If we wait around until we have somebody say "I'm mafia!", we're not going to get far. Prizyms is the most suspicious person to me, and I'm keeping my vote for him. A No Lynch is just another night of deaths, with less to go off of the next day because everybody voted not to lynch.
And what if Prizyms is the cop?
His line isn't suspicious at all.
I really think this is a cheap shot by the mafia.
He didn't see anything stand out as suspicious. Meaning he didn't think Dessern was mafia, so he no lynched. What is wrong with that?!?
Sploorky is tunneling Prizyms really hard with barely any solid reasoning. I say cop should investigate him. He really stands out as someone desperately trying to defend Dessern by throwing it on another.
Anybody could be any power role, should we not lynch people in fear of lynching the cop?
I as a mafia member would bandwagon, not start up arguments that would put suspicion on me.
Ah, but that's a matter of opinion. It was both posts that caused me to vote for him, not just the first one.
Cop can investigate me, I have nothing to hide. Like I said, there is no solid evidence on day one unless a PR gives information. And yes, I'm trying to protect Dessern all I can, because I think he's the doctor.
Let's look at your reasoning for voting Prizyms:
• He voted no lynch, saying that nothing stood out.
- Should he have voted Dessern? You're lynching him because he didn't think Dessern was guilty.
• He voted Dessern "without explanation".
- His vote was right under Marnixxie's argument. And argument which seems everyone ignored.
I still hold to firm in my belief that you were worried Dessern was about to by lynched, and therefore panicked and put the lynch on Prizyms, even with shoddy reasoning.
Ah, but if I was mafia, I wouldn't be trying so hard to save Dessern(This is assuming he is mafia with me).
See, let's say Mafia Dessern survived the night. Day two comes, oh he saved himself. Day three comes. He isn't dead, explain that. The crowd will likely lynch him, and this is if the skeleton doesn't snipe him in the night. Dessern is as good as dead. And if he was mafia, and was killed, who would people look to as the mafia next? JK and myself. If we were both mafia, doing all I can to save him will leave me dead. And two dead mafia members are much worse then one.
Luckily, I'm just a civilian, and I'm assuming Dessern is the doctor.
Sploorky You're tunneling Prizyms. I wouldn't be voting for Dessern if you didn't have such little evidence.
I vote Dessern because he's a better lynch than Prizyms. Also, you claim we can just wait to see if Dessern is doctor, and that if he is mafia he'll not die. That's reason enough for skeleton and mafia to leave him alone, since that will stop them from being lynched that day. Your reasoning on both arguments is flawed.
Also, yes we should be scared of lynching power roles. Else, we could just randomly lynch, as that's just as good.
If Duffie's a zombie I'mma just.. o.e
IT'S DUFFIE FOR GOSHNESS SAKE ;-;
As far as I'm going, I'm leaning all back and forth. I don't know who to trust ;-; I feel as if everytime I vote I'll slip up and lynch an innocent/reallyimportanttownrole (even though last time I voted for Notty it turned out we killed the last zombie which was Notty x3)
I should stop posting, but...I'm not tunneling.
Let's see who we voted for.
Dessern-I think he's the doctor
Kraby-No evidence at all.
No Lynch-I think it's better to lynch somebody.
If somebody gives a good reason to vote for one of these options, or any other option, then I will change my vote.
Also, let's look at what Prizyms said for a minute.
Really? If I was Mafia, don't you think I'd be counterclaiming an important power role?
He hosted a game of his own, so let's assume he's an experienced player. First off, no. I don't think a mafia member would (counter)claim an important power role.
Counterclaim - saying that I was cop early in the game to oppose someone else's claim.
If he means countering Dessern's claim, then it'd go somewhat like this:
'Doc':I'm the doctor
'Mafia': No, I'm the doctor
Then it goes to A or B
A.
'Town': Lynch the person who claimed.
Doc is lynched, Mafia is lynched the next day.
B.
'Town': Lynch the person who counterclaimed.
Mafia is lynched, yay.
Either way, the mafia member will likely die. So no, I doubt you would counterclaim.
Oh that's right. Well then. First, I need to learn how to read. Second, I don't pose a threat to anyone. I've been quiet, not gone.
I really hope people don't think I'm voting because of inactivity.
Well, if we go back to Mafia Lite V1 which I hosted you would notice that 'chu and JK were fairly talkative. I tend not to talk in the early game but if I need to then so be it.
You can't tell people's roles via their volume of posts.
Then why bring up how much JK and 'chu were talking?
If I was mafia I would most likely have claimed or cced as soon as Day 1 started. Lynching me means you'd lose a villager. I have nothing to gain by surviving the night apart from another vote that can go to whoever you please.
Again, why would you claim or cc? It will usually lead to death.
It's a common tactic. One mafia member either claims or counter-claims a power role. The other mafia member stays quiet. This didn't happen so I agree that Harmak is correct.
It's a common tactic, but not usually on day one as soon as the game starts.
I am gonna lynch dessern and if it's really a mafia then we pretty much found another mafia(sploo)
By that logic, you could also say Defiant is a mafia member if it turns out Prizyms is one.
