Introduction thread
As I’ve never really made a real introduction thread and saw some old members do it aswell, I just thought I’d make one of these. I also decided to actually give some information about myself, and not just saying “hi”
So. I’m Bram. This isn't my real name, and I've used this name (which is actually the name of my cousin) for so long now on the internet that I sometimes actually feel like it's my name, and think people are talking to me when they say bram or almost tell them my name is bram when they ask me, which really creeps me out. I’m from Belgium and I’m currently 13 years old. (the 13 in my name is a coincidence, not referring to my age, I don’t even recall why I made it bram13)
About myself
I like reading, and when I was younger I used to write stories all the time. (they were horrible… but still I love reading them) I’m a big fan of Minecraft and I only play Minecraft or some games from when I was younger, just for nostalgic purposes. (pokemon silver, the second and third harry potter video game,…) At the age of six I was allowed to play on a computer, and from that day I never stopped.
My whole life on the internet has pretty much been me going on a community, then leaving after a few months because I was either misunderstood, bored, or ‘felt like I was being hated on’ (seriously, I was 8 or something, and just an annoying kid seeking for attention) and the only community I’ve really been part of for longer than a year is Blocktopia, although I’ve been inactive on here and had my bad times. But I feel like Blocktopia is my home.
History on Blocktopia
I discovered Blocktopia around three years ago through a youtube video about the lava survival server when looking for random Minecraft videos, and then played on classic lava survival for quite some time as KingCarolus. However I wasn’t too active, and just left from time to time and just came back for a bit sometimes. After I became advbuilder and died a lot while in ironman mode, I ragequit lava survival.
Later I discovered Beta and inmediatley fell in love with it. Sometimes I would check out Lava Survival, but I was never as active as I used to be and pretty much didn’t play anymore. I was active on various PvP servers, and was actually high-ranked on one of them. But I always loved Blocktopia, and just couldn’t stay away from it. Sometimes I remembered about Blocktopia and just came back from time to time on the forums, but didn’t really do anything on there. I joined one of the premium servers once – It was some kind of minigame server- but never really did anything.
Then, on November 29 2012, I discovered premium lava survival. The only guy I remember being on there while I was online too was Araidian, and it was on the map Glacier. It felt completely different from classic lava and I was really confused, but I loved it. I was so happy about there being a premium version of lava survival that I was just hyper all the time. This got so bad that I got banned by sploorky once (don’t want to talk about it) but after that I started to get at least a little mature and even more active on the server.
I also checked out some of the other Blocktopia servers, but I never got addicted to any of them, my true home would always be RoF. (or LSMP as it was called at the time) However, I got flooded so many times without an operator being online that I just didn’t feel like playing anymore, and I saw so many players getting flooded without an operator being online, that I just thought: I should get operator. And thus, I applied for operator on February 15, 2013, with one reference I had begged out of Shande and surprisingly (to me) I was accepted.
I met some really nice people on here, to name a few really amazing guys I would call my friends: Shande, Spencer, Forseti, Dess, and way more people to name.
