Hey, I was telling someone about AoD and they thought I was talking about an iPod app, he then showed me the app and we realised it's name is copyright. With Blocktopia making money from their servers does this mean the name Army of Darkness should be changed? Here is the app: http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/army-of-darkness-defense/id431739110?mt=8

I don't think so. "Army of Darkness" is a reference to the classic Evil Dead movies (and if it's not, it should be) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Army_of_Darkness. Also Blocktopia runs on donations and is not a paid service so regardless I think we're safe. Thanks for looking into this though!

AoD also stands for the popular Disgaea game Afternoon of Darkness. I like that game.

IANAL but as far as I'm aware, the name of that app is Army of Darkness Defense and we're just Army of Darkness. I think we're in the clear. Besides, we're a not-for-profit organization in a way, so because we're not making money off of the servers/selling a product or service, we can't be sued.

because Bethesda is a larger company than the maker of an iOS game and the larger companies tend to be jerks
