So I just had to watch a really weird Japanese (almost shojo?) drama called "Absolute Boyfriend."

Basically some girl named Riiko Izawa is a like... intern at a, I believe desert-producing company and is in love with one of the workers there. The guy who she likes ends up giving her a pocket-warmer because she was cold during a lunch-break. In actuality, the guy dispises her and is only pretending to be friendly because of Riiko's "friend" Mika who also works in the same company & is actually dating the guy who Riika likes.

One day at the bar, Riika gets mixed up in some weird corporate or government conspiracy or organization thingy which is creating "ideal boyfriends" in order to collect "emotional data" on the population. Riika gets the first model ever. (He's a robot) And she gets really freaked out and whatever but ends up helping her on a variety of occasions.

At the same time as all of this the "chief" (lazy son of the companies boss) becomes interested in Izawa because she acts really weird due to all this robotic boyfriend nonsense and ends up seeing that, due to Riika's cooking at home, he is able to see her "chef" side when tasting products (though she ends up just excusing herself and running away), and is also set up as a love interest...

It's just very, very weird.
