all I'm gonna say is, town tim would never use the argument "you said 'if tim's scum' therefore you're not confident I'm scum and shouldn't be voting for me and so you're scum" imo

Like I said, it's only reasonable for someone to say 'if' and act as if you're not confirmed scum, because you're not, and that doesn't give any indication on how confident they are about you other than that they're not 100% (which nobody should be)
So you picking it out as a reason to suspect her is imo disagreeable, and I don't think it's likely you'd say it as town - and if you did, you'd realize the error in the argument and change your mind on it, which you haven't
So instead it must be because you're scum and you're not truly suspecting stranger for it, you're just trying to find a way to vote for her
Or you're focusing on the wrong idea here. It's not that they're expressing doubt, it's the way that it sounds like they're trying to distance themselves from being suspected after I get lynched by being noncommittal.

I disagree with that argument as well, I find it just reasonable they said 'if tim's mafia', that's what a townie would say as well because nobody knows if you're mafia except for your teammate if you are. The fact you don't see it as just a reasonable thing to say reads to me as a huge stretch trying to make stranger suspicious

(and I don't think stranger is being noncommital either, they're pushing for you fairly hard, so I don't buy that you think she's being noncommital just because she used the word 'if' even though she's pushing on you)

like, just saying 'if x is scum' isn't someone being noncommital when they're also pushing for your death and the context they used it in was 'if tim is scum inf is town', I just really struggle to believe that you genuinely read it with malicious intent of her trying to look inno if you flipped because that just seems like a huge reach to me

(i mean i get why he'd ask in public so ignore that part but I do find it strange how he's avoiding saying anything current and just focusing on mechanics and it does read to me like avoiding saying anything about tim, ik he said he's writing stuff but i'll believe it when I see it)

At this point I feel like you're looking at my words but not at what they mean to defend a mafia partner yourself.
I think I'm done posting for a while. It's not worth dealing with this much frustration.
