Guardians of Corruption, Clouds, and Ground
Skri'ik responded to her sudden question. "It is as you said during the interrogation. What exactly would killing you accomplish? Nothing. Look at you. You're weak and you're chained. You're not threat to us." Skri'ik did not reveal the real reason; knowledge. Cyra was likely hiding something, and he wanted to know just what. Killing her would permanently seal that knowledge.
"It certainly doesn't harm the situation. You can gain a lot. For example, I don't go around corrupting or killing more creatures. How is that not a gain? Unless you want me to continue?"
Skri'ik mused. He still did not reveal his main motive. "You're weak right now. You can't corrupt anything if you tried. And even if you do..." he waved his hand, and small cloud appeared and blocked Cyra's eyes. "...you won't be able to see what you can corrupt." Skri'ik smiled.
"Also, if we killed you... what difference would there be between you and us? We would have killed you out of fear of corruption - and the guardian you killed was Fear. There's something wrong with that."
"You do realize the exhaustion is temporary? Also, if killing makes no difference. Why choose one over the other? Does reason even matter? Death is death."
"Are you suicidal or something?" He asked Cyra.
"Perhaps. Just questioning the options."
Skri'ik's face shifted to disappointment. "To you, killing and reason does not matter. You are really a dog. You drive by instinct. Me and Liro are more intelligent and reasonable. You will never understand. As for the exhaustion, how will you know where to corrupt in the first place if you're bound and can't see?"
"Yes, keep me alive and pathetic, as a dog. Isn't that kind of selfish? Keeping me like a mere object? A possession? Perhaps you have something to gain from me."
"You have no right to call somebody selfish, murderer." Talking to Cyra was like trying to reason with a animal, you're not going to get anything out of it. Liro thought. Perhaps she really was a dog.
Skri'ik sighs deeply. "You still refuse to understand. Killing people is the final route. There is no turning back. It can be a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Doing this, we can eventually find a better solution to this problem. We're not murderers like you."
"Ah but you know, the Guardian of Fear is likely to return and kill me instead. We have the Guardians of Death and the Nether. This whole world is unstable and corrupted. Logic doesn't apply. As for your solution, can you really find a better solution?"
"About the Guardians of Fear, Death and Nether... we'll deal with them if the situation demands it, but for now they are of no issue whatsoever. I believe we can find a better solution. This world is a patch of dirt, right? That makes it a blank slate. Plenty of room for ideas and solutions."
"...and changes and deaths. Of course, this includes new beginnings, too. If I'm likely to attack again, isn't it better to end me now?"
Liro seperated the handcuffs, so that he could more Cyra's hands freely. He made Cyra's hand make a clapping motion. "There's no need. I have complete power over you." Liro said while grinning.
"Indeed you do. Why not just shut me up with more rocks? Why not just cover me with stone? Why not kill me and use me as a puppet? A living corpse? Control over a creature without a mind is surely easier than a creature that will resist."
"Silence!" Liro shouted. "There's no need to reason with you anymore. Just keep walking, dog."
She laughed. "Why not cover my mouth with more stone? Oh I got a better idea. Rip my mouth off my face. Or the vocal cord. Or just kill me. The more blood the better."
Why are we keeping this dog alive. What's wrong with killing a murderer. Isn't that just justice? "Just..." Liro took a deep breath. "Die already!" Liro shouted out of pure rage. He threw his sword at Cyra but it missed her completely.
"Wow you have great aim!" She smiled as she watched the last string snap. Liro's face distort into rage.
Liro charged at Cyra. She shall die now. She will not be forgiven.
What will her death be this time?
Skri'ik panicked for half a second. If Cyra died, he would not get that knowledge! He had to do something. Not only to one - but to both of them. He created a thin mist very quickly, and followed it up with instantaneous lightning from the clouds. He slumped over in exhaustion, as that required a lot of energy. He hoped it was in time.
When the mist cleared up, he saw both of them lying on the ground, further apart from each other due to the thunder. Both were still conscious, but could not attack one another from their position. He managed to rasp "Come... to your senses. Don't... kill one another..."
"Oh but I wasn't trying." She sat up and coughed as blood trickled into her mouth. Then she spat the blood out, looked up, and smiled.
Liro was knocked back by the lightning. He fell onto the ground. "Damn you! Whose side are you on Skri'ik?" Liro tried to stand up but he was greeted by a sudden shock coursing through his bones. It seemed to have paralyzed him. "D-damnit." He muttered as his vision went black.
Skri'ik's face fell into a frown. "I'm not on either side. I act based on my own purposes. Don't you two realise that you're sowing the seeds of conflict? I will not let another guardian die yet. That is why I had to intervene."
He looked at Cyra. "As for you - you're more dangerous than I thought. I'll have to keep a tighter leash on you." After catch his breath, he managed to block Cyra's sight with small clouds - barely.
"Hmm yes great idea, maybe I'll trip and crack my head on a rock."
((Also, people at the crater should be able to see the lightning.))
