Guardian of the Nether

Remillia watches the fight between the Guardians of Light and Darkness, the corners of her mouth in a very faint smile. It was strange; she actually enjoyed the fight, and that was one thing that all of her mind could agree upon. She both knew why she did and didn't know why, both didn't like the fact she enjoyed it and and did. She almost laughed at how silly and supposedly 'mind bending' her thoughts were, and wondered when the other guardians would figure it out.

She decided, with effort, to stop looking at remains of the fight and the wounded Light Guardian, and gaze at the back of the cave. They had almost come to the end of the cave, so she decided to ignore the scene that was happening and walk towards the end of the cave to inspect it. The ground was rather flat at this part of the cave, though there were still the dangerously sharp stalagmites and stalactites. Anyone not careful could accidentally impale themselves. This spot was perfect.

She closed her eyes and felt the air around her. She could sense the strings of magic that floated along the air, and willed the magic strings to draw into her for this spell. She would need a lot of magic to do what she needed to; creating an opening to the nether wasn't easy. After a few minutes of just standing there with her eyes closed, collecting power for this spell, she outstretched her right arm and drew a vertical line through the air with her index finger. She poured out the magic she had gathered into the spell, creating a rip through this dimension that led into her realm; the Nether.

The rip grew wider, with a faint red glow it revealed a fiery red landscape with massive pools of lava. She had created a portal to the Nether. She could only very faintly hear what happened around her as her body shook, exhausted from the amount of effort it took to create a portal through the dimensions. She had virtually sucked the magic out of the area around her and redirected all of it into one spot, the portal. She usually absolutely never used this amount of power in one shot. She only used so much power when she opened the portal to the Nether World. She sat down, breathing deeply, calming her body and giving it a slight break. She would need to position some of her 'guards' around this spot when the world started getting inhabited by creatures; not just anyone could go into the Nether, after all.

After a moment of breathing, her hearing started to return to her, muffled voices becoming louder and recognizable. She would enjoy the reactions her companions would have.

A wave of shadow ripples in around the rift connecting the Nether and the overworld. I will the sun to fade and instead replace it with a swirling vortex of shadow. The black hole sun drags portions of the hellish terrain from the underworld into the overworld, creating a haphazard plateau of mixed dimensions.

Remillia feels something wrong. Something is affecting her realm! She quickly gets up, stumbling a little. She knew that if she put too much magical pressure on herself that she would start to get magically tainted, but she couldn't let something or someone use her realm for their own purposes. In a hurry she closes her eyes and tries to gather magic as quickly as possible, and after a few moments she draws a circle around the portal with her index finger, magic bursting out of her hand, creating a magical barrier around the portal. Physical beings could pass through the barrier, but magic wouldn't. She had just created an anti magic field around her portal, keeping whatever magic was trying to drag portions of her realm away out. How were they using so much magic at one point? The Guardians weren't THAT powerful, and if whatever thing tried to use magic again he would probably use up too much magic... and that would be bad for that person...

Speaking of using too much magic, she was feeling extremely dizzy. She convinced herself that the magical barrier would keep her realm safe from further corruption, but the damage was done. She collapsed onto the ground with a grunt, falling a little through it in the process, but her spiritual body automatically righted itself. Her head swam, and she tried hard to just keep herself from completely fainting. Creating the portal was essentially cutting through multiple dimensions, and took a huge amount of effort for any Guardian. She had almost completely drained herself of energy, and her image flickered frantically. Trying with all her might, she kept herself awake, with her vision blurry, her head throbbing, and her hearing muffled.

He sits crouched down for Alouette to take his hand when suddenly big chunks of blood red stone and lava fly by "The fucking shit!?" he yells. He quickly jumps down into the hole next to Alouette as bigger chunks of debris fly torwards the cave's exit. after thirty seconds he sticks his head out of the hole "The fuck was that?"

"Ghhh... How did... s-s-something... inter... interfer..." She managed to gasp out quietly, curling up into a tight little ball. She hadn't heard what the other Guardian had said, but she had thought aloud to herself. She was pretty sure she had opened the first step to magically tainting herself, but it was for the sake of the planet she had to do it. Though, if the nether did invade... argh... her head swam too much to think, so she dismissed the thought for later.

"So, what's your name?" Ross asks. "You can call me Endal." "And who else made it out alive from the last planet?" he continues. I don't quite remember everyone, but I remember a few Guardians. "Hope, Nether, Fire of course, after he burned down the planet. I believe there were others, but I can't recall who exactly."

The girl sitting next to me mumbles possible names she could take. In the end she settles for Himinn Rauha. Rauha... I'm pretty sure that means "peace" in some language. Memories flash back to me.

A young girl sitting next to me, wearing yellow and blue. She looks up to me and grins. "Well, we have to think of some way to recognize each other, don't we?" I nod. "Yes, some way... I can't think of anything, to be honest."

A look of undeniable genious flashes over her face. I could almost see the lightbulb lighting above her head. "Tell you what, from now on I will always use the word "peace" as my name as long as I exist as a Guardian of the Sky. And that is how you will know it's still me." She looks up to me and smiles.

I smile back.

((Music for the Nether Portal Opening[[approved by Kylieanna]]))

The Guardian of Hope

The immense power from the Nether Portal being open was enough to bring everyone in the vicinity it to their knees. The distinct sound it made was akin to someone scratching a chalkboard. At first the vibrations in the cave were low but became increasingly more vivid. Hope could not even grab the wall for support. His legs felt weak and he pressed his hands over his ears to try to block the sound. He could see that ζωή had fallen to the ground and curled up. Hope thought Cyra was right behind him but he could not turn around without losing balance. The situation they were in was dangerous and the boyish-man trusted in himself and those around them that they would get out just fine.

Looking up, Himinn (look, she has a name now, she has a name) frowned slightly at the snow.

It had actually been brewing for some time now, but she didn't really think much of it. Now, though, it felt kind of wrong (there wasn't even a sky hiding behind it, just a bunch of debris). The sky shouldn't be completely enshrouded in darkness and snow.

The world shouldn't be completely enshrouded in darkness and snow.

((EDIT: Usually, I'd quote the previous post I'm replying to, but since I forgot to do that @Timdood3 @endersteve5))

Guardian of Corruption
Cyra crouched to the ground next to the wall as a portal blasted rocks through the cave. A Nether portal? Is Remilia the Guardian of the Nether then? No wonder she spoke to Death so confidently. Although that does not seem to be the most important problem right now. Maybe she should focus on the random matter blasting her companions away. But the power to open a- Focus, Cyra.

Remilia fell to the ground. Did she faint? Really? After opening a portal to the Nether? She fainted while a portal is blasting random stuff at her companions, causing matter to fly all over the place, such as that sharp stalagmite falling towards her group? Hmm.

That's not good, is it?

((also a note; the portal isn't blowing stuff at people anymore, i put up a barrier to stop whatever magic was causing it to stop temporarily, though the barrier will break soon if we don't escape here, presuming darkness is trying to break it)

The Guardians of Light, Flight, & Nether

He jumps of the hole. crouches down and sticks his hand out for Alouette.

She takes it, and steps up so her head and shoulders are out. "This is where I got a little stuck," she says.

He drags her up through the hole. "Wow. You're lighter than I expected."

She winces, trying to get a look at the scrapes on her wings. "I'm not bleeding, am I?"

He looks at her wings. "Um. Slightly." he says, carefully wiping away the blood from underneath her feathers, doing his best not to hurt her.

"Oh..." She changes the subject. "At least I'm out now."

He look at the small wound, worried. "Yes, but you're hurt."

"It can't be THAT bad. It just stings a little." She still can't see it.

"You're still bleeding" he says. He grabs a small piece of cloth out of his pocket and keeps it on the wound. "We got to keep pressure on it."

"Alright." She still thinks he's getting worried over nothing, but stands still so she won't make his hand slip.

"Anyway, I'm planning on seeing what the heck that debris was."

"Is anyone else still here?" She looks around, seeing the dark red and black rock strewn around the cavern.

"I think so. That debris didn't come out of nowhere," he says, "Furthermore it's just us..."

"Are you sure?" She squints at the back of the cave. "I think I see someone back there..."

"Let's to there then. See what caused these rocks to fly" he says walking forward slowly, now covering the piece of cloth with his whole hand

She walks towards the blurry figure in the distance, trying to make out who it... She... is.

The figure they see is just at the end of the cave, lying right before a portal that seems like it lead to a fiery red and black realm, with the same terrain as they had seen earlier.

The figure seems to be that of a young girl in a red dress with white hair, her ghostly image flickering quite frequently. Something was wrong.

"The shit?" he pushes the cloth in alouette's hand and runs to the figure. He checks for a pulse and sighs, "She's still alive." ((ghosts have many human features and mechanisms))

Remillia tries to scrunch up into a tighter little ball as she feels something interact with her. She shouldn't have poured so much power into the barrier... but then, if she hadn't...

Alouette leans over his shoulder, looking down at the girl. "What happened?"

"Argh... I-I used... too m-much magic... I... I opened... a portal... took a lot of my power," she spoke slowly, trying to stop her head from swimming.

He grabs her, carries her to the wall and seats her down. "Rest for a bit..."

"Something... i-interfered..."

"Interfered? You mean the big chunks of stone and lava flying about?"

"That's never good..." She mumbles, worried. "Do you think it was the Guardian of Darkness?"

She raises her head slightly, her red-orange eyes now easily visible. Her spirit seems to be flickering less, but she still appears rather weak.

"How would he be able to do that?" he asks Alouette, looking at her wound "Good. The bleeding's stopped." He turns his gaze back to the girl. "Don't push yourself too hard." He says.

"The person the Guardian of Darkness had waiting for us... They were powerful, even though they weren't the real thing. And you know what he's been doing with the sky... You saw it. You did say yourself that he's very powerful."

"Well. But. THIS? This is just hurling large chunks of stone about!"

She raises a hand to rest her head on, her mind swirling. She takes deep breaths. She would be weakened for a time, but the initial shock was far greater than her weakness would be.

"It could've been meant to do something else, we don't know what he's doing, or even where he is."

"I... think... it was intentional..." she mutters.

"True..." he looks at the portal "Though... what in the heck is this?"

"That... is a p-portal to the-the Nether... In... order for s-spirits to rest... a portal to it... must be open... s-somewhere..."

"The nether?" he walks torwards the portal "It looks more like Hell..."

"That's w-what the Nether is in a n-nutshell."

He looks at her "You want the spirits to go rest in a hellish place?"

"Good sp-spirits go to... to the Aether... And all the other spirits..." She gestures to the portal, thinking it explanation enough. She seems to be getting quite better.

"... Then where is the Aether portal? I mean, if there's a portal to the nether there must be one to the Aether a swell."

"..." She clutched her head for a moment, trying to collect her thoughts. "...I... don't think th-there's one set... set up... yet..."

"That seems right..." She mutters, looking at the portal and then back to the girl. "At least you're recovering."

"... Does that mean... If there isn't one set up... And we die. We go here regardless of whether we were good or bad?"

She nods her head, her eyes still rather dazed. After a moment of silence among all of them, she decides to talk about the matter at hand.

"I... I think... If I-I don't get... to Magic... I m-might be-become... magically t-tainted..."

"What? Magically Tainted? Magic? Woah, one at a time please"

She seems to shake her head, probably trying to clear her head. She starts breathing deeply for a moment, calming herself and her mind. She hesitates a moment, and then she responds.

"If a Guardian uses too much of... of their magic, they might... might get tainted by the m-magic.."

"What effects does that include?"

"It... is known to make them-them obsess over their element... and if they use too mu-much magic... They p-pretty much explode."

"E-Explode?" he yells in surprise, the ball of light in his hand instantly disappearing making the cave dark.

She lets out a small giggle. "It wo-won't happen unless y-you use so much magic that you basically... look like me..."

She smiles. She was surprised at how fast she recovered, and it appears that her deep breathing helped. It seems that her head being dizzy was the main cause of her stuttering, and though her muscles still ached and pained to no end, she could hear and talk more clearly now.

"As in, y-you nearly f-faint in exhaustion... Please, light the area up again."

He lights up the are again "... Sorry. But i might have used a lot of magic a bit earlier..."

"..."

"...I have a favour to ask... C-can you two... bring me to Magic?"

"Bring you... To magic?"

"The Guardian..."

"Oh."

"How will Magic help, exactly?" Alouette asks, breaking in.

"...He wi-will be able to help my magic taint..."

"...Alright." Alouette still doesn't quite understand, but she won't press further. "We should probably get going, then."

"Fair enough. We'll take you to the guardian of magic." he grabs her and piggybacks her onto himself. "Let's get moving, shall we?" he says slowly starting to walk forwards.

And so the three Guardian start to make their way back entrance. The first people they meet on their way back are the Guardians recovering from the massive blast of debris.

The Guardian of Hope

Out of the corner of his eye he noticed the clay spikes falling from the cave's ceiling. Hope quickly looked upward to see a very large one about to fall on them. A wave of despair came over him as he would not be able to move ζωή in time. He quickly brushed it away and held onto his virtue of never ending optimism. The black haired man felt an innate power inside him awaken as the stalagmite fell faster on them.

An outside person looking at Hope could see that his outline had a faint bright gold tint, including the impeding stalagmite. Hope's dark pupils became encircled by a bright yellow halo. This all happened within seconds as the stalagmite's trajectory abruptly changed and landed a only footsteps away from the trio. Once the stalagmite hit the ground the glow from both stalagmite and the Guardian of Hope faded away leaving a scene of almost normalcy.

Guardian of Corruption
Cyra watched Hope glow with a faint yellow light. The stalagmite moved slightly, missing the trio. She stood up, brushed dirt and rocks off her cloak, and inspected her surroundings.

"Was that your aspect?" Cyra asked Hope.
