IC Guardians of the Elements

The fact that we're flying really cuts much of the travel time. In barely ten minutes we're at the entrance of the cave. I quickly jump off Airis' back, grateful that there's once again solid ground beneath my feet. There's definitely something about this cave... something that makes my senses tingle. There's a lot of magic in this cave.

I investigate the entrance, feel it. The others must be confused. "I thought we were going to enter...?" I hear behind me. Well, there's hardly anything of interest here at the entrance anyway, so I guess the portal that caused the surge of magic that I felt earlier and which may be the cause of Remilia's corruption, must be inside the cave. "Yes, we're going in right now," I announce as I stand up and start walking in the cave, still investigating everything. "Airis, would you mind carrying Remilia? She looks like she's about to fall over right here." The corruption must be stronger than I anticipated. Bad news, that gives me less time to find Aether and get us all out of trouble.

The cave is surprisingly dark, even near the entrance. "Darkness... hm." I frown. I make sure that Himinn, Airis and Remilia and right behind me and I go on deeper into the cave.

Death continues to travel with his new companions, now confronted with two unknown people. Death looks at the others noticing Hope's gesture and replying, "I dont think this is such a great idea..", leading him to be even more torn on whether or not to continue traveling with the group. He thinks to himself, "I hope these guys dont lead me into trouble."

Alouette wanders, now. She's forgotten exactly what it was she was doing, and she doesn't care to remember--at least not now.
'I was stupid...' She thinks, gritting her teeth so she won't start to cry again. 'It's too early to start that kind of relationship... Such feelings only complicate the beginning of a world...' But still, she can't get him from her mind.
"L-last time we didn't meet until the world was old... Surely I can live for that long without him again..."
She speaks out loud this time, to no one but herself, her voice shaking. "...why do we have to feel...?"
"Because if we didn't feel, we'd be no more than magic rocks."
It's the boy's voice again, the winged boy from her memory... She blinks, sees a flash of green grass, and closes her eyes.
Alouette's kneeling again, this time on hard wood, the paint coating it cracked and peeling.
"And magic rocks need someone to control them, don't they?"
A warm hand settles on her shoulder, and she turns a tearstained face to the speaker.
"Then why does it hurt so much...?"
He looks faintly surprised at the question. "To teach us, I guess... To show us our mistakes."
"..." She looks back down, staring at her hands, and the vision crumbles away.
"Magic rocks..." She finds herself saying, and turns it over in her head as she walks.
'If... If I don't feel... Then I won't hurt... Right?' She runs her hands up and down her arms, feeling a slight chill. 'If he was here, he'd--' she cuts off that train of thought with a sharp no. 'Don't think about him. He doesn't exist. Not here in your painless bubble.'
"Get away from me..."
The short sentence echoes in her head, and she mutters spitefully, "Get away from who?"
Alouette smirks the slightest bit. 'That's right... Forget about him, and everything will be okay...'
The air seems to grow a smidge warmer, and when she glances up, she sees a group of--one, two... Four people, not very far ahead. As she looks at one, a cold ball of fear settles in her stomach, and suddenly she feels like she needs to turn back, to go make sure--sure of--of what?
'It's nothing. Nothing's wrong. Nothing's wrong except for--Remilia, was that her name? Her magic taint...'
She mentally locks onto the ball of fear and crushes it. 'There's no need to be afraid, nothing can hurt you... Nothing can hurt a rock...'
She breathes in deep and lets it out in one even breath. 'Nothing can touch me now...'
Before she expects it, she's upon the group. "Hi. I think I've met you before..?" She looks mainly at the white-haired boy, waiting for confirmation.
'Nothing can hurt me now. I'm like a rock.'
But rocks can't fly, now can they?

((Hopefully. Remember, Endal had mentioned that this planet has failed multiple times before.

If this planet actually does end, and some don't feel like changing names, everyone could just use the excuse that the last planet ended before it even started.))
