Liro looked down to his leg. "I think I might be able to walk with a little bit of help." He then attempted to raise a spike out of the ground. It came out effortlessly and didn't tire him at all. "I should be fine to fight as long as it's not physical combat." He stuck out his hand to Skri'ik.

Cyra sat up with her throat completely dry. It felt like she had been screaming the entire time. She coughed and realized there were claw marks all over her arms. Was she clawing herself? She quickly hid her bare arms with her cloak again. Then she stood up and realized the Guardian of Fear had left. She looked around to see Skri'ik and Liro waking up. After that cursed fear vision, she did not want to be alone. Cyra gritted her teeth. Damn that Guardian of Fear!

She casually walked towards Skri'ik and Liro.

"Sup."

Skri'ik took Liro's hand and lifted him up - but as soon as he did that, he heard a familiar voice. A voice no less ominous than it had been before... and Skri'ik's eyes narrowed. His frustration immediately grew to new limits. Why now? Why did she have to come back, at a time when they were weakened, and crippled?
He grimaced angrily and turned around to respond. "Welcome back, dog. Your timing is something miraculous; if it wasn't, your fate would certainly be different."

"Oh wait, was I supposed to come back later? My bad. Should I come back later so you can beat me up?" She frowned. Why did she return to a place where she's treated like a dog?

Guardian of Life

How long have I been running?
It's impossible to tell in this darkness, it's disorienting. I don't know if I'm stumbling or striding or even running at all. Am I still near the crater or have I ran far, far away? Time is washed away by the black that covered everything.
Not sure which direction she was heading, Zwn just ran through the dark which had gone eerily quiet and her brain was screaming as the only sense that worked was the feeling of the cold ground beneath her bare feet. Still running, the darkness is no longer there. Did it fade or did I run out of it? She thinks, looking back and frowning. She turns her head back to find herself barely a metre from a group of three. Two men, or boys, she doesn't recognise and a girl she does. Cyra. She scowls, her face twisting for a moment before she lets her expression fall blank again.

The Guardian of Water threw himself at me, slinging blasts of flame and water. While the water did little but bruise my fragile humanoid figure, the fire singed away the darkness I controlled around me. I thrust back with a colossal mass of dark mass, knocking him to the ground.

Seemingly unconscious, I turn away from the feeble Guardian. As I do, however, see a glowing blade of liquid fire protrude from the front of my chest, while the recovering Guardian healed himself with water. Losing mind, losing matter, I begin to sink towards the ground, my vision blacking over.

The Water Guardian's triumph is short-lived, however, as my slight form melts into the shadow that has closed around him, and be sees me assume the blackened shadow form, a living nightmare. He takes a step back, steeling his will, but I don't have time for toil. Now sporting my original power, I have many more Guardians to dispatch, and this fool with his healing factor isn't worth the effort. I reach out, my ethereal form growing and fuming, and grab the struggling Guardian, before flinging him brutally into the fiery depths of the crater.
((And now for what really happened. If you wouldn't mind, Jivvi, could you remove this post so future readers don't get confused? and me when I eventually turn this into a book really long story.

--------

Ross charges at the opaque darkness with his trident, but when he would have struck the being, he meets no resistance. Instead, he is thrown off balance, and the darkness moved back a few feet and launched a large orb of solid, pulsing darkness at the Guardian of Water. Ross is sent flying, and is significantly wounded. He manages to stand and fling a portion of the flame emanating from his orb.

The fireball directly hits the silhouette, but neither the heat nor the impact have any effect. The light, however, is absorbed into the shadows of the figure, and it stumbles, partially out of pain but mostly because it was caught off guard.

Seeing the darkness' moment of weakness, Ross takes the opportunity to further reduce the the water in the mixture, leaving almost no water remaining in the flames. The fire burns intensely and the inferno spirals out of control, creating a brilliant flash. Exhausted and badly burned, Ross stumbles back in hopes to reach the water before the enemy can retaliate.

As the inferno reaches the dark figure, it hunches over, and seems to glow. The light radiating from the form is excruciating, and the being quickly pulls all of the darkness in the immediate area in around it to snuff out the light. Severely wounded and its powers temporarily inhibited, the darkness sulks back into the shadows to fight another day.

Ross sprints into the water. At first nothing, then excruciating pain. Agh...What's going on...This should feel...good- AGH... <ragged breathing> ...It feels like I'm swim- ugh..in acid.... To ease the pain, Ross tried to create a bubble around himself. Tried. The spell had no effect, but the effort knocked him out.

Ross found himself once again in the endless ocean where he first met Poseidon. In front of him, suspended in the water, were two orbs. One he almost could not see, but he knew it to be the orb that he had originally received. The other was the polar opposite to the blue orb: Contained in a sphere were swirling shades of red, orange, yellow, and in the center, blue. This time, Poseidon did not show himself, he simply said one word: "Choose."

Ross took no action, only considered which element he want. He wanted both, but he could only have one; which he'd choose, he didn't know yet. Poseidon decided that further prodding was in order. "Ross....You know you can't wield another Guardian's element. Today you have showed not only that you were willing to wield it, but that you'd consider deserting your own aspect for it!"

Ross felt silly shouting at something he couldn't see, but he knew Poseidon would hear. "I did what I had to do! Light's lost his mind and is probably trying to kill Alouette. Pyro is dead. What else can deal with darkness? Surely not water alone! I was the only one there to fight it! Pyro's element had to have gone into the orb for a reason; a world without fire is a world without heat, and thus without life!" Ross was actually a bit surprised to find himself defending fire with such conviction, as if he'd already made up his mind.

Poseidon's voice rose in a fury. Not only had Ross considered leaving water for fire, but now he had the nerve to argue with him, the aspect himself! "Pyro was a menace! Do you even remember what he did to the last world!?"

"He didn't do anything. It was a demon!" Ross' voice rose to match. He was so angry that he didn't care that there was nothing to see him. He wouldn't have cared if there was something.

"He just told you that to get you on his good side so he could kill you again!"

Ross voice fell, but his conviction remained. "No. He killed you. Not me. If he wasn't dead....I wouldn't need to talk to you for guidance." Ross took an orb in each hand and slammed them together, creating the blue orb with orange flecks he'd had before. The moment he touched the flame orb, however, his entire body was once more consumed by the excruciating pain he'd felt before.

This must have been what Pyro felt any time he was in water... Ross swam up frantically, going as fast as he could using the orbs aid. He could see light above. He could feel the pressure decrease. He could see the waves. And when his head came above the water, he woke up, still covered in burns, on the shore.

((I hope I've gotten the point across that Ross' problems aren't with other Guardians, but with his own emotions (and Poseidon). And please, if there's anyone who doesn't want me to have use of fire at all, just say something. Though it is notable that Ross' most significant power, fast regeneration in water, is now negligible. He basically traded it for the use of 'raw frost fire' as Catco <3 called it.))

Guardians of Corruption, Clouds, Ground, and Life

Liro looked over to Cyra and sighed.

"Well, that was the intention... you killed an innocent man and we showed you mercy. You did not take our mercy - you scorned it, used it to escape and possibly cause havoc. There is no mercy anymore - or, there wouldn't be, if the timing wasn't this impeccable." Skri'ik grimaced further. "What do you want from us?"

"Mercy? Mercy would be killing me and be done with it. And it's none of your business anyways. Fear and I settled it. You didn't even know what was going on when you decided to give me 'mercy'."

"The fact was, you tore a man to shreds in front of us. How can someone watch idly by and do nothing? Do you really think me and Liro can be satisfied with that? Letting murder happen unperturbed? Maybe it's because of your element, you don't understand."

"Yeah maybe. But what happened before that? What happened after that? What about when Fear came to me earlier and thanked me for killing him? You saw none of that. How can you judge?" She felt someone stop behind her. "Hello again, Life."

She looks blankly at the back she almost ran into, not replying as Cyra acknowledges her presence. Curiously she peers at the other two, the one with the semi-long white hair and the boy with the goggles. Are they Guardians too? Probably. But what aspect?

Skriik heard footsteps behind him. He decided turning around and talking to this newcomer would be a good idea, especially to cool his head. He was not satisified with Cyra's story one bit. "Salutations. You must be Life, I presume? Welcome to the party. What happened at the crater, may I ask?"

"Wow can't you guys introduce yourselves? Life, this is Skri'ik and Liro. Liro and Skri'ik, this is Life."

Liro suddenly got a headache, ignoring the conversation. He stepped back and held his head in his hands.

"Well, people call me Life but my name is Zwn," She replies timidly, shooting a glance at Cyra, "I can't recall a lot of it because half the time I was in either pain or I was unconscious. Remilia was unconscious, two people died which I assume you know and-- Hey, are you okay?" She glances at Liro, holding his head in his hands.

"Two? Well then, another Guardian has died. But never fear! Fear has returned. Ah yes, bad puns. Skri'ik is the Guardian of Clouds and Liro is the Guardian of the Ground by the way. So they're not going to go crazy and evil like me. They're all good guys."

"I think the other Guardian who died was the fire one, because Ross got weird fire-water powers. I suppose this suggests that when one guardian permanently dies, their opposite aspect gains their powers to some extent.
She looks back to Liro, "So?"

"Weird. Isn't it? Well doc here is looking at Liro now." She turned to Skri'ik. "Anymore scorn or lectures for me?"

He stepped back. "Yeah, I'm fine."

"No, I'm about done with scorn and lectures. You know what you've done..." he turned to Zwn. "She killed Fear right in front of our eyes. I don't know what happened with him now, but we were going to bring her to the crater so we could exact an actual judgement on her."
"But under the cover of unnatural darkness, she escaped, unpunished... what I did not know is that a second guardian died. How did this happen?"

"I literally just told you Fear came back and I talked to him."

"I don't know. I can't tell who it is unless through assumption, which is how I assumed the fire guardian died. I don't know how he died, or under what circumstances but I suppose I can feel when someone dies."

He turned to Cyra- "What I meant, was that we don't know the exact details of Fear's return. How he came back, and what as." -and back to Zwn. "Looks like we have another case to investigate... but first, what about Cyra? Do you think we should trust her Zwn?"

Concern furrows her brow as she glances at Liro again, "Hmm, if you're sure." She looks back to the white haired man and her expression turns cold, "What you don't is that not only did Cyra kill a man, from what you've said, but also before that she attacked a man named Hope and I before she fled."

"Ah yes Hope is a nice guy. His eyes glow yellow when he uses his powers. Glowy eyes are always cool. So are glowy clouds."

Skri'ik's eyes widened. "Well, we can't trust her certainly... but then, what do we do with her? We can't give her another chance to escape and go free. Liro and I are injured. We were attacked by a strange figure who wielded Light... what to do?" So many questions, not enough answers.

Zwn frowns, looking at Skri'ik. "Light, are you sure?" She mutters, "But he isn't meant to be evil.." She peers up at him, shaking her head and deep in thought, "I can't say I know, perhaps we should bring her to others. Large groups are stronger then small ones, though everyone seems to be scattered now that the battle took place."

"Ah yes, I'm guilty of that. Partially. It was going to happen anyways; I just sped it up. His past was causing his mind to eat itself. Fascinating."

He nodded at Zwn. "I agree. We need to find others... but how do we prevent the same thing happening that happened last time? She escaped under the cover of darkness, and it's only by pure chance that we found her again."

There's too many people here. Too many voices. He put his hands over his ears and sat down.

"Well actually, I walked towards you. You didn't find me."

"Either way, we found each other... and now, we must find a way to deal with you. Liro's too drained to handcuff her again - what do we do?"

"Well okay I'm a dog again. Forgot about that. Why do you get to decide what happens to me anyways?"

"We don't precisely determine your fate alone; that's our motive to find other guardians, no? You don't get to determine your own fate because of your madness. Everyone here has witnessed it." He glanced at Zwn again. "So, do you have any ideas? In the event of none, I can block her vision with clouds, but that will slow us down tremendously..."

"How do you define madness, Skri'ik?"

"Please stop..." Liro whispered, quiet enough for nobody to hear it.

"You killed Fear. You attacked Zwn and Hope. You did something to the light guardian. You cause harm and malice to others - yet you do not seem to notice your wrongdoings. That sounds like madness enough."

"It sounds homicidal. It sounds psychopathic. But does it sound like madness?"

"Yes."

"Well, it sounds like a rampage of madness to me. Do not forget your element. Your point of view is different than ours. You revel in chaos - we despise it. So, Zwn, do you have any ideas to hinder Cyra so she can't escape?"

"Exactly, my point of view is different. That means your madness isn't madness to me. Every definition is different. And you only judged on what you saw."

Zwn shakes her head, unsure. "No, not so much," She replies, shrugging.

"I think so, you think not. Isn't this another example?"

Skri'ik did not care what Cyra had to say anymore."This is another example, but you've committed things that would be considered unspeakable in another land." He summoned small clouds to hinder Cyra's vision again and smiled. "Are these friends familiar? They'll have to do for now."

"This isn't exactly helping. I came back on my own will and you can't even trust me enough to walk without tripping every five seconds."

"You don't deserve to be trusted at all, don't complain." She shoots coldly at Cyra.

"Yeah okay, next time remind me to just corrupt you all instead of try for a friendly conversation."

Skri'ik glared at Cyra. "Watch your clever tongue. Coming back on your own will does not redeem trust so easily. You've caused all of us trouble, all of us pain. We have no reason to let down our guard. Now, let's go-" He turned to Liro. He seemed in pain, with his hands over his ears. "Liro? Are you really ok?"

"I was right, I should not have come back at all. Or I should have come back later so you actually have energy to kill me." She looked down. "Because obviously your past defines you."

Skri'ik sighed. "Your past does not define you... but we have no reason to believe you have changed. Prove us wrong if you can - but it's more likely that if we let our guard down, then you will escape and cause havoc, as you have done previously."

"SHUT UP!" Liro shouted at Skri'ik. A wave of dirt surged forward at him. He just wanted silence. He just wanted to be alone.

"Ah see you don't give me a chance. Or a possibility to kill me. Or- Ohey Liro. Nice dirt scuptures."

The wave of dirt hit Skri'ik. It only caused him to flinch - as Liro was too injured and weak to do anything really damaging - but the mental shock was much bigger. Skri'ik panicked. What was Liro doing? Was he betraying them too? "Liro, what happened? Why are you like this?"

Zwn frowns, moving slightly back as the wave of dirt hits Skri'ik. "Hey, Liro," She says softly, "Calm down, what's wrong?" She slowly gets closer to him, stopping and crouching a few feet away. "Do you need help?" She asks gently, cocking her head to one side.

"At least I'm assuming they were dirt scuptures because Liro and random dirt flying. I can't really see. Go doc." She cheers with one arm then put her arm down immediately as the scratches showed.

Liro stared at the ground. "I don't know."

"Hmm... you're Life, aren't you? Well, I'm pretty certain Liro has injures. Certain circumstances to do with Cyra and that light boy caused him to sustain several. If you could heal them, I'd recommend going ahead."

"And that lightning you struck him with."

Zwn creeps forward farther, moving to sit just infront of him. "So, where are you hurt?" She asks timidly, placing her hands on her knees and looking at him intently.

Liro calmed down a bit. He pointed at his leg.

"Alright," She places her hands on his leg softly, as to not put pressure on it and a soft green glow surrounds them both and warms her hands.

"Ah yes now the clouds are green now. I'm assuming Life is healing Liro?"

Liro's leg lit up in green. He assumed that Zwn was healing his wounds. "Thank you." He said softly and smiled.

Skri'ik looked on in awe as Zwn healed Liro. "So this is the power of Life..." he murmured.

Zwn grins, "Just doing what I do best, in other words you're welcome." She replies as the green glow fades and she takes her hands off his leg, "Better?"

"Well I'm not allowed to do what I do best apparently, so no."

"The reason why is obvious. You're best at sowing discord. Zwn is best at helping others." He turned to Zwn again. "Thank you for healing my friend. It's much appreciated." Skri'ik grinned.

Zwn shoots an annoyed glance at Cyra as Skri'ik speaks. "No problem," She replies with a smile as she gets to her feet and offers her hand to Liro to help him up too.

Liro instantly felt better. He got up slowly. He stared in awe as he looked at his leg which seemed to be completely healed. "That's amazing..." He said. Liro then walked over to Skri'ik. "I'm sorry, I don't know what came over me."

She scowled. No one could see it anyways, due to the cursed clouds before her face.

Skri'ik shook his head. "It's of minimal importance now. The result of it was nothing. In the end, no harm was done. You now know you have to be careful in controlling your state of mind so the same doesn't happen again, but all in all, let's fine. Well, friends, should we go?"

Liro looked at Cyra. "Friends?"

"Well I'm assuming I'm not included in 'friends', also, Life knows the way."

"The way to the crater I assume?" She asks, looking at the group, "Well, I know the general direction, I suppose but it was dark and I was rather disoriented."

"Alright, I'll correct myself. Friends, and Miss Corruption?" He was careful not to use the language dog. He wanted no interruption in form of arguments. "You lead the way, Zwn."

"Ah yes. Begin the journey of continuous tripping and the loss of blood."

((You might want to pick a role from the list in the main post))
((You can also request roles, for example Ground and Technology didn't exist before. But Nature and Flora have backstories tied to Fauna, which is Ooglie. Aether has a backstory tied to Nether, which is Kylieanna. I highly recommend reading all the past posts or ask someone [I'll be happy to answer questions] for a summary.

Maybe I'll make a recap soon.))

May I be a Guardian of Time?

Unsure of a name though :p
((You can, but that doesn't exist in the role post just yet so even though I know very well the likely points you'll use you still need a job description. Also, what Claire said- it'd be nice if you take the the roles that are currently listed atm, especially the ones that are extremely important for the continuity. Your decision, though.))

... Also;

((Maybe I'll make a recap soon.))
The girl twitched, staring at that sentence.

There hasn't been a recap in quite a while.

She thought it over, looking at the post signifying a new possible Guardian as she layed her head back on the pillow.

To be honest, it was becoming kind of hard to keep track of this, with 84 full pages. At this rate, there would be things no one would be able to remember.

That could be a problem.

Unblinkingly, she grabbed the book and pencil from beside her.

This may take a while.
