The Guardians of Water and Fear
Takot had been walking for quite a while, and reached the beach. He'd gone slightly off course due to the darkness, but surely he'd still be able to reach Ross. "But how will I get him alone if he's fighting?" He wondered aloud. He knew that where there was this much fear, there had to be fighting. "I could scare him off, though perhaps I'm a bit weak after the incident with Cyra..." Takot smiled at the memory.
Out of nowhere, Takot sees a bright flash a few hundred meters away and breaks into a sprint. When he arrived, he saw a body lying on the beach. Ross. "Oh my god! Ross, are you ok?!" Takot could see the severe burns that covered his friend from head to toe, and tried to shake him awake, none too gently. "Are you ok? Can you hear me?"
Ross cried out in burning heh agony and swatted at the hands shaking him. "Ah, what the hell?! Get off of me!" It was more painful than the shaking, but Ross rolled away and looked to see who had disturbed him. His jaw dropped as he saw his old friend. "Takot? But- You were killed!"
Takot laughed it off. "Yeah, I was pretty dead for a while, but now I'm back. It's good to see you haven't given up your own spirit yet. But...What happened to you?"
Ross coughed, he was already feeling better with something to distract him from the pain. He looked up and laughed weakly, "You should have seen the other guy."
"Darkness?" Takot had to ask, even though he already knew the answer. "What's his deal, anyway? He's wrecking everything!"
"Aye, that he is. But I got him with this." In his hand Ross summoned a small, watery flame. "Sent him slinking back into the shadows." Though still weak, Ross felt himself recovering rapidly.
Dumbstruck, Takot simply stared at the flame is disbelief. "Is that...Fire?! How?!"
Ross couldn't help but be amused at Takot's reaction, and even happier that he could still wield both elements. "Long story."
Takot wasn't exactly satisfied with the answer, but he'd be patient. "I guess you can tell me on the way to the group. In the meantime, you look terrible. I mean- You're in really bad shape."
Ross let the comment about his appearance slide and reverted to Takot's first statement. "What group? Everyone's right h-" Ross turned to indicate the Guardians around him, but the only ones present were unconscious. He remembered that those who could have flown away, did.
"Liro, Skri-something, and Cyra."
"Never heard of them. Except Cyra of course. fuckthatbitch," he added under his breath.
"Liro is the Guardian of Ground and his friend, whose name escapes me, is the Guardian of Clouds." Takot could see the look of apprehension at the mention of the Guardian of Corruption and added, "And don't worry about Cyra, I put her in her place. Now, do you need me to carry you? We need to move before the Darkness returns."
"I don't think that will be happening anytime soon. And I think I can walk, thanks." Ross stands and stretches his legs. The burns are still clearly marked on his body, surely many of the would leave scars, but the pain had stopped. "How far is it?"
"We should be able to reach them in maybe ten minutes."
"Great, just enough time for me to tell you the story of my flames.
