As her brother speaks, Alouette listens, careful not to miss anything. "..Got it." She stretches out her right wing, taking care to beat it in time with Airis's. After a few moments, it becomes apparent that he was right- their flight is nearly as smooth as before.
"We just have to keep going-"
Aaaah.
Her breath rushes out in a pained gasp. Another had hit her foot, hit it hard, and it hurt, hurt like nothing else. She falters for a second, but quickly returns to the steady rhythm she'd found.
"We just... Have to keep going up."

More of these light orbs fly past the trio as they climb ever closer towards the barrier of darkness (whooo, spooky [/face-pan]!!), a few more hit, bust most of them miss. Suddenly, one strikes Alouette's foot, hard.

After clearing the barrier of darkness, Catcocomics jumps off Airis' back, just in time to watch as a final orb of light smashes into Airis, sending him back to the ground. Now with most basic abilities regained, Catcocomics flies under the falling guardiansand gets turned into a massive pancake as the weight of both crush him and they all fall and become even bigger pancakes. GG Airis and Alouette, the plan failed. and then flies up in an attempt to slow their fall. As they are about to land, Alouette slips from Airis' feeble grasp and [insert appropriate safety maneuver here] to the now unconscious Light.
Now, with a lighter load, Catcocomics is thrown off balance and lands near the river he awoke at. After Airis gets off the half flattened frost phoenix, Catcocomics immediately flies off to the nearest star.
