[BCOLOR=#ffffff]Guardian of Flora[/BCOLOR]
---------------------
For a moment, she was nothing, another, she was everything, and then, she was herself. It was an odd feeling, though she had felt nothing before. Existing was... strange. Lonely. But necessary. She opened her eyes for the first time, greeted only by darkness. Opening her eyes began... something. She had been a mind, substanceless, aware of concepts but without any weight behind them, but now she had a body, awareness. New sensations and their meaning spread throughout her, heat and cold, touch and smell, hearing, feeling. Things she understood implicitly, but yet were new. She lay there, wherever 'there' was for a long time, letting sentience, self-awareness wash over. Finally, as she felt she understood everything mundane, a new awareness blossomed. She gasped, felt the first stirring of her first emotion. Sadness. She could feel the world around her, feel how bare and stark it empty it was. Everywhere, there were... holes, places she felt things, pieces of herself, belonged. She was struck by the vast... bareness. Lack of life. There was nothing of herself but herself, and... The thing that surrounded her. She knew its name. Pod. Pushing with her mind, the pod split open, spilled her onto the ground. She turned, gazing across the empty world, filling in what her mind had told her with her eyes. And then, acting on what she knew was right, she pulled, filling the emptiness around her with grass, flowers. A tree. A circle of roses around the pod that had birthed her. Little things, but it was a beginning. And then one, final nugget of information made itself known.
There were others.
Flowers and grass sprouting in her wake, she moved in their direction.
And she needed a name.
