Apologies, I have been quite busy in life and have not had a good chance to read the whole thread in its entirety until just recently. And yes, before you say anything, I am indeed dead, died on the first night as a civilian. Though this effectively takes me out of the game and disallows me from commenting further, there is good reasoning for me to post a statement now, due to the implementation of the "Last Statement" mechanic, which I am certain in a more indirect way, is allowed here seen here by this statement:
The road to ruin said: ↑
After you have died and made a last statement, do NOT post in the thread until the game is over. If you are not in the game, please do not post.
Which, by my understanding, very much allows me, as well as Jolteon42 and superstein to make any last remarks regarding the game in its current form.
Just to clear things up of course.
Now before I actually get to any of the meat of the discussion and what has actually really been talked about thus far in the thread, I should probably refer some of this beginning segment to my dying off during the first night of this Season's Mafia game.
You know, I already knew, or at least had a strong hunch that I probably wouldn't be alive farther than the first night this season's game around. If I did live further than that, I did truly expect that the "Skilled Player = Mafia, Lynch, Lynch, Lynch" argument begin to be formed again, and because of this belief, I really didn't want to participate again in this Mafia game.
However, Thus far I haven't seen that factor come into place, and because of this, I applaud thee.
But of course... This wouldn't really be a "good" last statement, let alone a JKangaroo Produced post if it were not long and was chocked full of some ideas and discussion that are currently being tossed around in the game as of present!
Currently, I am extremely disappointed with how the discussions have been turning out thus far.
Seriously, guys, the majority of you guys seem to be posting in an extremely quick, sort of rash manner. Slow down so some other people can actually get their voice in. Because of this rash posting spree that seems to be happening now and again, you guys seem to be missing key points when someone notes it, and it also doesn't allow other's in the game itself to actually share their ideas and possibly change your thinking on any specific subject in question. (Plus, it makes it so I can't swoop in with this Last Statement post and be all "totally awesome" you know? I have a reputation to uphold! ((not really)).
Joking aside, I don't really know what went awry in the first day.
If you've looked back at the past games, I, for the most part, have been one of those leading the charge in believing a No-Lynch is normally the best choice on the first Day of Mafia. I normally stand by that point, as really, I find that as in the majority of Day 1 Scenario's, there, but really you guys really kind of forced the No-Lynch with no really point to it, since there was no discussion, at least, originally.
...
Actually, screw it, I don't really care anymore bout saying anything. Game's going to fast, and there really isn't any real point for me to do so.
I'll just say some things going on (since I am writing / wrote this over a period of days, some of it's not even relevant anymore!) I'll just say whom I'm suspicious of. (Since I can! It's a last Statement! Haha!)
First, lets start with current events.
I am looking at this statements and I'm just scratching my head.
I mean seriously, what is with this "Martyr, kill me instead of Notty" business.
Defiant, seriously, I haven't seen your usual, good logical statements the majority of this game, step up your game, and actually give some legitimate reasoning for actually wanting the town to kill you.
As it stands, this is such a terrible, idiotic idea, that I can really understand why Sploorky, Zezmi, etc, aren't voting to lynch you off right now.
Mainly, if you were actually apart of the town, why are you trying to get yourself lynched when in the end, it's not benefiting the town in anyway?
There are a couple of scenario's that can occur, but can only occur at random with a varying chance of actually happening in terms of the game's events and the choices of people.
1) Even if you do die, you're death won't exactly have any affect than leaving Notty (if he is indeed the detective) to die during the night, or particularly the next day. The Mafia, Serial Killer, and the like can still attempt to kill him even if you do die. You are essentially killing off one town member, leaving the town more even more defenseless / prone to loosing, as they loose an additional player in the game that could be weighed against the Mafia to Town ratio.
I mean really?
-------------------------
2) So, you do die, and Notty is saved by the doctor.
Of course, this also leaves Notty still up to debate whether or not he is still the cop in question, because unless particular evidence is brought into light that he can truly show that he is not the cop or not.
With this scenario, I also want to take a look back at yesterday's events that occured.
You claimed to be cop yesterday. Told the doctor to save you.
This caused a sort of controversy regarding what affiliation you truly were.
I mean, really, a cop showing himself on the first day? No evidence that can lead against the Mafia nor to prove he is the detective in question? It's not a very tactical and albeit very bad for the town.
See, I'm having the strong suspicion that this "doctor save Me, on Day 1, then sacrificing yourself the next" just seems quite suspicious. I mean, you essentially put the Doctor's role into a very precarious position.
With the idea that You die the next day, the doctor saves Notty...
This feels like the idea is going in circles, trying to put the ACTUAL town off the track of the Mafia.
You are forcing the doctor to be saving false claims, essentially making him save fake cops/Power-roles so he doesn't get the chance to save real town-members.
Plus, as seen here.
What certain roles were these?
I don't see any roles in this game that can actually lead me to believe that you can have any evidence nor the position to really make such claims.
If you are a civilian, as you say you are, once again this wouldn't compromise exactly any roles besides lowering the population and ratio in which the Town can effectively lynch a Mafia, as well as the Mafia finding out Town-sided power roles.
At the moment, I don't see any reason why people Should NOT be suspicious of you.
Even if some evidence can possibly be used to suggest otherwise, I would still suspect you, as this "lynch me" idea is just downright terrible.
((EDIT EDIT EDIT: Ugh, just ignore everything above. You guys dont even give breathing room to post anything, sheesh.
I'm not going to say anything anymore besides whom I think you should/shouldn't be looking out at.
I'm not suspicious of
Old_Man_Oak_63 . Just because he has two hit-points in a night means nothing. If this was other Mafia forum games, we wouldn't even know he was hit, and we instead would speculate that it was probably either an elite civilian, or otherwise.
There is obviously a greater chance that he is an Elite Civilian.
Plus, He's given some of the more sound-arguments thus far in my opinion.
I'm suspicious of NottyKitten. I doubt he is the cop as of this date, even with the idea that Sploorky is vigilante.
...
...
...
Too fast for me, I give up. Not going to even give an opinion!
I do say that Notty didn't do a very good job convincing me otherwise though (if it does turn out he is cop)
BUT:
If Notty does end up being the cop, don't even follow this advice please.
It's not very good.
As roles are random, and we merely go after people we believe to be Mafia/Power roles/etc, there is really no argument that can really back up the idea of "Kill the cop, people who voted for him are Mafia" unless it's a blatant and obvious bandwagon / Mafia gang-up.
I'm suspicious of Defiant/Zezmi (or was it endersteve? The game's too fast for me to recall).
Everyone else has-- kind of barely spoken so can't really be suspicious of them (As the "they are quiet" excuse as Mafia is also completely terrible!).
HALF OF THIS POST IS PROBABLY TOTALLY USELESS.
YOU PROBABLY ALREADY COVERED IT.
I FEEL SO TERRIBLE.
OH WELL.
HAVE FUN WITH THE SEASON.
