Minecraft server hosting question.

I was hoping to host a simple, private build server on classic. I downloaded the .zip file, extracted it, etc. and then did "start server". I get this error message:

'java' is not recognized an an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. Press any key to continue . . .

I've made sure the java I have is up to date, edited the start server file with the location of my java, changed my path and a ton of other stuff I've found on the internet. NOTHING IS WORKING.

Anybody know what to do?

Ehh, sorry. I do have the software for servers, but they are all 1.0.0. I had the same issue, but i just googled it and it seemed to work... good luck c;
