The issue isn't my parents knowing, it's my parents' previous knowledge of ponies, the horrid first three generations.
I don't care if Mom knows. But I care if she sees it as a bunch of poorly drawn girly girls having tea parties with stuffed animals discussing makeup and tea parties.

Speaking of Invader Zim.. I was just watching a 24/7 marathon of it yesterday o-o

(No I didn't watch the whole marathon LOL)
I was watching it, too. And thanks to it I've got the last few Invader Zim episodes I was missing on my DVR c:

@DaniNomsYou
You're so lucky, half my acquantances only watch friggin' Disney Channel and TLC/MTV.
I jelly.
Oh, they do watch some of that, but they're awesome and watch awesome shows to even that out. But pretty much everyone else in my grade only watches that crap =/

This comment is not to rant or rage, but don't you think Applejack is a little bit of a stereotype(not that i hate her, love her), but whoever made her probably stereotyped her into like Western farmer back in the old days kind of deal. Don't rage at me, still love her. This post is meant for in-depth discussion and opinions, dont rage or rant, ty.

Like she would know about the specifications. All she knows is the MLP franchise as it once was in 1980. Only aimed at girls, not meant for all audiences.
I realize this is a bit late, but bloody hell, get off your selfrighteous high and mighty pony.

A snippet from some semi official source:
Friendship is Magic is her attempt to rescue the genre of girls' cartoons by presenting a clever show with a strong and diverse cast of female characters who aren't pre-occupied with fashion and boys. Her goal was to create an intelligent show for girls and thier family to watch without wanting to instantly shoot themselves.
quote from a Q&A by lauren faust (the creator.)
I didn't create this show for little girls, I created it for little girls and their parents
So basically, yes, it's aimed at little girls. and then it's been tweaked so families can sort of enjoy it instead of just having to endure it.

Stop using the cartoon as the excuse for your liking girl stuff, being socially awkward, teen angst, emo tendancies, or whatever, ok? It's not fair to the cartoon, it's not fair to the people that actually appreciate it for what it is (a cute cartoon. for girls.) And REALLY don't pull shit like "It's not for girls" out of your ass when the creator of the show, on her own defiant art page, specifically says it is, because THAT kind of factual fakery just pisses me off.

'ello. Just keeping an eye out for annoying behaviour.

For the record, just in case people misunderstand: My rant above is not on MLP. It is about the misguided belief that it is anything but a cartoon for girls. Because it's exactly, and only, that.

And, there's nothing wrong with it. I watch MLP roughly once a month. (Granted, the 80's or 90's version, not FIM. Thank god.) It's also not entirely by choice, my 7 year old god-daughter just really loves it... and I used to watch it as a kid, so I don't mind it all that much. Hell, I owned pony action figures. I also had a doll that could piss itself.

Nothing wrong with liking girl stuff. But at least man up about it, and don't justify that you like girl stuff by saying "Oooh it for everyone!" when 5 minutes on google can blatantly prove you wrong, and don't bloody act like it's anywhere close to coming out of the closet.

It's insulting to gay / bi people, the cartoon, the creator, and makes you look dumb as shit.

-edit- to keep on topic (and to piss megatron off)

My little Starwars.

I'm not trying to compare it to coming out of the closet, I only meant to state how my parents have the mentality that a boy who likes things intended for girls is gay. At this point, I've made the decision that since they saw my wallpaper, I won't openly admit unless they suddenly start pestering me about it.
Believe me, I would tell them if they weren't all "oh he likes girl shows he must be gay".
My grandmother knows. She doesn't care. Yet, she doesn't have my father's mentality.
It's simply a case of dealing with a homophobic father whom I have no idea what to expect from.

"In one ear and out the other"

I think you may of completely missed deadl0ck's point, i think part of the point was

"You dont have to goddamned admit this to your parents like its some kind of sexual tabboo because it isn't, its a cartoon show, you watch it you don't preach it. I used to watch a shitton of childrens cartoons when I was 16, i didn't find the need to walk downstairs and go "EVERYBODY, STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING... I... WATCH CLIFFORD THE BIG RED DOG, I HOPE YOU CAN ACCEPT THAT AND ACCEPT ME FOR WHO I AM" Because i understood that its a cartoon show, not a sexual orientation, gender preference, religion, hobby or anything of the like. It's something i watch to pass time and mildly enjoy.

Hell even I have a homophobic "and" racist (Funny story, he still uses the term "wogs" in reference to black people) dad with a short temper, I don't find the damned need to explain to him why im watching a cartoon and I wouldnt bother wasting time announcing something no one cares about, it's a cartoon show, nothing more.

Edit - on that note, Im bisexual and I worry less about my parents reactions than you do about a fucking cartoon show. I also find less need to announce my TALES OF WOE AND SORROW WITH MY HOMOPHOBIC PARENTS to the public than someone discussing their enjoyment (albeit, fanatical) of a children's show. Sort it out.

I tend to be a complete idiot when it comes to arguements, especially when it comes to seeing the point of one.
Might I just say, I don't feel a need to tell my parents, however I am worried on how they would react, yet seeing how they reacted to a simple wallpaper I am beginning to doubt that it will be anything bad.
...or did I miss the point again? (That isn't meant to be smartarsery)

Do you know anything from a web player? Or do I just have to hope to get it on youtube?
