I loved the idea.
I remember seeing this when you first started the map (though you may not have known it!), and I was impressed as the work scaled with your time put into it.
I absolutely adored your scale / idea for the map, even though I don't remember much of the LOTR franchise after watching it about 8 years ago.

I think the map is fleshed out in a neat, nostalgic way, however, Its very much empty.
Where are the hordes of enemies crashing against the mighty walls? Heaving massive ladders to crash, knocking the defenders from the wall? The breach in the wall?

Obviously i'm exaggerating and I know this can't be done, but the area, mainly in the frontal area of the wall, and inside, are a bit flat and uninteresting. And it is a bit large... though I know most of it is adminium'd - off and can't be reached. And with all of the adminium, there may not be many places to hide, though obviously I can also be wrong as I have not fully explored it since you finished. Maybe this thought will change once I get a better look at it.

Meh, who am I kidding. I love the map, and I'm just nit-picking. Good job, but just add those small details, and it could make the map even better. ;)

Edit: I even went and re-watched the battle of Helms Deep right before writing this, just so I could comment better. Look at you making me go research it and re-watch one of my favorite Franchises, even though I haven't done it in a long while. *wags finger*

After just playing the map trafalgar I do think that the size of this map wont work. Numerous players wer complaining about the lag that they were having and many of them (myself included) had to have fog on max to be able to not lag. This is a great map but the size is my only concern.

I knew that the size of the map would be a problem. I tried a 128x128x128 size map, but that was even to small. I guess I might have to scale it down if it will lag uthe server a lot.
I've seen people complain many times about Lag (kippers!!!) really on any sized map, wether it be a small 32x32x32, 64x64x64, 128x128x128, or beyond.
After just playing the map trafalgar...
Trafalgar is much bigger (being entirely 256x256x256 I believe, But I am not certain on that). Adding on to that, Trafalgar also is mainly empty space filled with water, with some very easily breakable ships. Helm's deep may have the map size, but with most of the areas blocked off by large adminium walls, I'm quite sure some of the Lag won't be there, as you won't be seeing most of the map (obviously again I can be wrong here, I don't know much on the "Lag" subject, yada yada).

I know we tend to only make 64 to 128 sized maps due to potential Lag, even then we cannot help it when someone does complain of Lag, as someone always will have connection / Lag problems wether is be from their personal Internet connection, how much their computer can handle, and as well as our server stability. So I think the potential Lag may not be much trouble.
(And I'm not directly talking to you Dess, Just quoting you! ;) )

In this case I do belive it could be sutible for at least a test run.

I'm so sorry I don't have the .lvl file yet. The reason is that Epsilon is down so it isn't possible to get it ATM. Also I am on vacation for 3 more days, so I won't be able to get it until I come back. Sry again. Hope to get it as soon possible.
