Yeah the 'non canonical' part of the title is the only (imo) decent argument against this theory, and Arelic's death will hopefully shed some light onto that situation, but PERSONALLY I interpreted the 'non canonical' part as in "this game's events aren't canonical", like when fan-fiction is made and someone's like "is that canonical!!" and they're like "nah it was fan-fiction", I thought it was a joke from aqua like "this isn't what actually happens in the universe of rick and morty, there isn't really mafia, and rick/birdperson/whoever don't *actually* terrorize a galactic federation ship with characters they know all on board!", and personally I feel like having a themed game, specifying the town's faction and then not having that relate to the alignment part of the game is just way too random (like my doctor who reference earlier, "welcome to doctor who mafia. you, the town, are the monsters of the show" and then finding somoene is called 'The Doctor' - pretty likely they're mafia since I think, as a host, you'd make those kinds of decisions, but that's just me) - but obv my interpretation could very likely be wrong + is based around what I perceive to be aqua's sense of taste, but yeah arelic's responses are also suspicious and I have mafia vibes on them too, and with such little information, I think arelic is the best bet we have.

tl;dr

if a host specifies town's faction in a game, it'd be very random for that to not be relevant to the game's factions in terms of the theme (e.g. Doctor who mafia - "you, town, are monsters of the show" - if someone's found to be the doctor or his companions, they would likely be mafia)

but this is just my opinion and could be wrong since it does say "non canonical" but i interpreted that as in "the events in this mafia game aren't what happen in the universe of rick and morty, none of these characters are actually lynched/whatever" as like a bit of a joke but again, just my interpretation

also hunter's being mega hypocritical and suspicious

Infected_alien8_ noopnoop isn't a janitor iirc he's just a disrespected member of the vindicators

as for Iggish, tbh I did think he could be serial killer but I didn't like how the rule breaking thing could be used to sway the town into believing him and thought it'd be best to go with my original feeling, especially since he was one misstep away from getting modkilled

As for Claire I still believe it'd be best to wait until next day to see if there's lying going on but at this rate she really needs to claim

She could be either equally, I wanted to see if she survived the next night to confirm you/she was faking the disease claim as while you were more vocal about it, she said the diseases name first and you agreed upon that

If it was made up I'd have thought you two would have disagreed on at least one point so we'd instantly know one of you was lying
