I am the black child of a white father,
a wingless bird, flying even to the clouds of heaven.
I give birth to tears of a mourning in pupils that meet me,
even though there is no cause for grief,
and at once on my birth I am dissolved into air.
What am I?

Actually, I didn't, though I should! Here's my riddle: You are in a room with two doors and two people. One door leads to life and the other death. One person can only tell lies and the other can only tell the truth. You can only ask one question to one person (not one question each). What question do you ask to find out which door is which?

Just need to use logic for this one. You ask: If you were the liar, tell me which door will lead me to my death?

The liar will point the door to life
The Truth teller will point the door of life also ;D

Uhhgh, no idea. I'll have to ponder it for a bit.
Could be an umbrella or coffin as you said, but I think... they were all in an INDOOR STADIUM practising their RUNNING! Just imagine, the rain is just a red herring which can't get them because they're indoors, and the four people who are running get wet from being sweaty. :3
