Just going to throw this out there, but if the mafia just so happen to have a janitor type role and we no-lynch today, we will get no information whatsoever tomorrow. The main point of No-Lynching Day 0 is because there is hardly any information to go on, however its not just a no-lynch and then lets move on. Its supposed to be a day of discussion where we see and learn everyone's stance towards the game, this gives us at least some information we can use the next day. If we fail to do this then, and there just so happens to be a janitor on the mafia side, then we will be sitting here tomorrow in exactly the same position wondering what the fuck do we do.

Gentlemen and ladies, allow me to introduce myself; my name is Hoxton, J- Bo- err let's just leave that as Hoxton and I hope you don't mind if I continue to wear my nice mask. I'm relatively new to this whole science thing, in fact I used to run a "financial transfers" group with some "close friends" of mine. I had hoped to open a new chapter in my life though and have joined this experiment with the hopes of making some new friends and having absolutely no contact with the D.C.P.D. I hope we all get along well!

Now I've heard that there are some shifty characters that may have come to mess up our lovely safe-house err... I mean science house, that's what I meant! It's my opinion we should be rid of these scum ASAP but I'm not quite sure where to start. I know that some people haven't voiced they're opinion on the matter yet and some have even stated they wished to prepare a speech so I suggest we let everyone have their say before making any rash decisions like calling the cops!

I think I'll vote no-lynch, after reading Fruit's post.

Vote no-lynch

On a completely unrelated note, don't ever underestimate thirteen-year-olds when you give them a writing task to write a story. I used up seven pages complete with dialogue- I mean it's 'story-writing task' right?

I see a lot of people doing this so I'll ask the question. Why immediately skip to day1 when we can use the day to discuss Your essentially wasting an opportunity. Most lynches right now would be random so I agree we shouldn't lynch anyone but why pass up the free opportunity to look for suspious things now and keep a closer eye on them later.

We cannot afford to no-lynch after day 0. In most setups it isn't good to lynch today because the odds of hitting a townie are higher in probability than the combined mafia and third party numbers. After today though tomorrow we will need to lynch someone and if we rush today we'll Have little more information than we have now. So why would we waste our chances to attain the information that we need?

Faliara, why so quick to rush through this game and pass up opportunities at vital information we will most likely need later on?

This is a game of psychology and logic. If we give up the chances we have to gather information the mafia will be the only ones with the information to use either giving them a very strong upper hand.

I vaguely recall in PvC that someone mentioned how you always pushed for a D0 lynch but didn't [in PvC]. Your response was something to the effect of 'because I was mafia all of those games'

I've already said that I don't want to use past games as evidence, but I think this is somewhat noteworthy.
You might want to go over PvC again. I didn't push a lynch because a) it was going to end in a No Lynch anyway, it was a game with pretty experienced players and I felt it wasn't worth it at the time. and b) reactiontesting. Nothing of the sorts you mentioned here. In fact, that kind of reasoning would not only hurt myself in the long process, since people would immediately know which alignment I am, it's also heavily frowned upon in most mafia communities and, as far as I know, even against the rules. Perhaps not in this game or Blocktopia in general, but I still stick to it.

I'm going to stick to my general no opinion on D0. I watch everyone, but generally don't vote.
If something sticks out a lot, then I will make appropriate actions.
I can see the positives to lynching - higher probability to get mafia tomorrow which, of course, will benefit us. On the other hand, if we no lynch, it's more of us tomorrow.

It's virtually guaranteed to have a kill tonight. Unless something weird is happening, there should be one at least. So that would mean 2 townies down. We don't know how bad that is due to not having confirmed number of mafia, but whatever happens it will be bad.

Also, can we not go off the assumption that there is going to be investigating roles? It doesn't always happen that way, so unless we somehow can confirm it (via someones (or multiple peoples (hopefully mafia))). I'm not saying don't completely cut out the idea, but don't try and play the game 100% on the idea of there being a cop.

Anywho I'm at my lunch break so I'll reply again later today.

While we get information, the Mafia could easely get information aswell. Like last game *hectic hawaii* as Mafia we figured out with information from day 0 that Ltin was the Vig and we killed him during the night. Information goes both ways

Maybe so, but rushing through days with little conversation still benefits the mafia, always has, always will and right now I dislike that you are trying to persuade people otherwise.

I'm not purrsuading anyone to rush this day, I'm just stating that this day gives the Mafia a small bit of information aswell.

But if you want conversation, we could pose more *actual* questions for people to answer, like:
What do you think the general setup is?

I think we have:
2 mafia groups of 4 people.
1 SK and 5 other Third Parties.
And the other 16 are town.

Why? Well just guessing, but it seems appropriate for this amount of people.

I doubt its 2 mafia groups, probably a single group of mafia (the Chaos Insergency) and a lot of third party roles which would make sense considering there are numerous SCP's that could take the role of third party. (If you took the time to find out what the SCP Foundation even is, which I myself have had a look at now and again out of interest.)

I... Huh. Makes sense. I don't really see anything that counts as suspicious now, though .-.

I recall fiesta saying "THIS ISN'T ATTACK OS THE SPCS. . . "

As well as in the flavor text (I hate to solidly follow flavor text) it said thirty scientists. But why would he tell us that there are spcs among us so....

I'm not discarding the idea altogether, but I don't thinks its really likely.

Then why don't you unvote so we may have lunch ;)

Also notty that's the most legitimate day 0 point I've seen yet. However, I must completely disagree because the mafia on a general setup are already holding most of the information (not to mention that if we played to avoid information leak we'd end up with rushing every day without talking making everything a random lynch).

I'm keeping an eye on you after that comment but it's not quite enough information yet:(
