You are already starting to talk about adding economy here, what would be the difference between this and DoD, excluding the villages of course.

Well besides the differences in the plugins we had, there's also the map size. The map size was a huge part of what made 1.7.3 SMP memorable, because everything was relatively close and people would take advantage of this and not be so.. secluded. This might rule out the possibility of doing projects on a mass-scale, but things felt more simple and enjoyable when everything in the whole map wasn't isolated and concealed by 50-block-high walls.

I guess in a nutshell, nothing would really be different (from what I know), except the fact that the plugins would change and the map size would be smaller. I'm guessing though the desire to go back to 1.7.3 SMP is mostly fueled by the nostalgia factor.

One thing I liked from JtE was that Grinders were illegal and there had to be dark rooms, this way not every had god armor and tools, makes the game a bit more challenging.
