She slowly started to get up, but only to feel her legs weaken under her. She collapses back into her seat. The dizziness wouldn't release its hold on her.

I don't think I'll get any food, but I may get up just to get water.

She ponders for a moment, only to see the man who let her into the town walking toward her, carrying two plates of what seems to be spinach. He sat down next to her and spoke.

"...Hey uh... Here. Some food."

She couldn't help but smile at the kind gesture.

"Thanks..um..I'm sorry but. I do not know your name. Could you tell me it after I get back from getting a drink?" she asked, looking at him.

She slowly rose to her feet, struggling some. She knew fatigue, hunger, and dehydration would get her at one point. She felt like the world was moving around her, throwing her off balance. She was really concerned about taking a step. She didn't want to alarm everyone, or look like a fool.

After he finished eating the arms of the men he killed, he discarded the remaining bones and continued circling the fort, looking for the gate. After five more minutes of going around the structure, he found the entrance.

" 'Ey! Anyone in there able t' help me? I'm dyin' of thirst out here!" yelled the sweeper.

[Hopefully everything is fixed now, 0% wizardry.]

Ray saw the girl struggling to stand up. She was too weak to get herself anything. She even looked like she's uncapable of even TRYING to.

"You stay put. I'll get you some water." Ray says.
"By the way, my name is Ray."

Ray walked to the water dispenser positioned at a corner of the room.
He grabs two glasses of water. He was thirsty as well.
He filled the two cups with fresh clear water.
After getting the drinks, Ray walked back to the girl.

"Here you go. Some water."

She dropped back down into her chair, starting to feel defeated. She waited on Ray, starting to wonder why he was being so nice and helpful to her. When he returns, she takes the glass from him.

"Thank you Ray."

She took a sip from the glass, only to suddenly start drinking it quickly. She knew she was thirsty, but not THAT thirsty.

She quickly pulled the glass away from her lips and sat it down on the table.

"So..My name," she sighed, "I still haven't found myself a name."

She ponders names in her head. Many of them sound good, but one hits her, and she knew she wanted that to be her name.

"Call me Tessa, or Tess."

"Well, that's a nice name. It's way better than calling you nothing." Ray said.
"Anyways, i'm starving! Let's eat!" Ray added while glaring on hsi food.

Ray picked his fork and yanked a piece of the spinach.
He ate it.
The taste was bitter yet a bit salty.
But it's still a bit horrible. As usual.

It's still better than the "mystery meat" dish he thought of last week.

Ray looked over to the girl to see if she liked the food here.

Probably Not.

She couldn't help but to laugh at Ray's expression when he ate the food.

"It must be horrible. I guess it will be fine. I'd rather eat nasty food than die."

She picked up her fork and picked up a piece of spinach with it. She took a bite of it, only to start coughing.

"It's so horrible!"

She started to laugh hard, knowing it could make it easier to eat such horrible tasting food. Comedy always made eating horrible food better. She slowly but surely ate the rest of it.

I hope I don't regret eating this later.

She looked up at Ray.

"So, where will I be sleeping at?"

"What I would do for a good meal right now!" the strange man laughed.

It was dark out, and no lights could be seen from any direction. "Am I even going the right way?" The strange man said, "Of course I am, there is that large mountain I passed earlier, shouldn't be much further now....."

The map bandit woke up the next morning. He hunted, then met a strange man claiming there were bandits headed his way.

Night approaches. The man in the desert paused his traveling at the edge of a cliff, his chest flat against the sandy rock. Below him lay a small party of men, around eight to ten or so. Most were camped around a large fire, and most were seemingly frustrated with something, most likely due to them being stuck in this wasteland. What most interested him about this group is that they had a few horses, which would definitely make things easier for him as he crosses this desert. He'll wait till nightfall, then he will strike.

[BTW is there a general idea of what time it is? I hadn't been getting alerts for this and kinda lost track.]

"There is Haven!" the strange man exclaimed as he saw lights in the distance. He sprinted to the gate and spoke into the intercom.

"Hello there, I am Xeon, one of your scouts. You probably don't remember me, since you sent me to look for bandits a long time ago, but I have returned with urgent news! I must seek entry back into Haven, for bandits could be on my trail!"

The people at the tower by the gate begin talking among one another.
"Isn't that the guy who thinks he is from the middle ages?"
"I think so, shouldn't we kill him?"
"That can't be him! Where is his getup?!"
"No, just listen to his voice. Noone else had such an absurd accent. And what kind of stupid name is Xeno?"
"Hold on, I'm lining up my rifle with his head. Betcha I can get him in one shot."
"You idiot! Don't shoot him! He can make a good slave if anything."

The time sweeper noticed that he was in the shadow of the wall.
Well, no wonder noone can see me. I've been in the damn shadow without knowin'.
Slightly annoyed, he got out of the shadow and started calling for someone, intentionally ignoring the man near him.
"'Ey! I've been watin' here for a long time now! Mind openin' the gate, or at least respondin'!?"

Meanwhile... Back in the front gate of Haven, Mark is standing guard in his tower while the guards down bellow.

*sigh*. They're off shooting some idiot while there's clearly someone else nearby.

Mark aims his crossbow to the strange shadowy figure nearby.

"WHO GOES THERE? STATE YOUR BUSINESS OR BE SHOT."

 

[HarmakAnna]

"Well, don't point your crossbow at me like that! I'm out of water and have t' feed off of the remains of bandits! They taste like crap!" yelled the sweeper.

"FAIR ENO-"

Mark stood there in disbelief.

I must be going nuts all of a sudden...

"YOU'RE AN ANIMAL? WHAT THE HELL?! GIVE ME MORE OF A REASON TO NOT SHOOT YOU. FOR ALL I'D KNOW I COULD BE SEEING A FRESH ANIMAL TO BE COOKED TO PERFECTION." Mark added, still aiming the crossbow at the "Cat".

The guards down bellow heard what Mark said.
Their focus is now shifted to him.

"What the hell Mark. Is he going nuts?"
"I think so-"
"...look. He's right! Over there!"
"Holy shit. It IS a cat!"
"But i didn't even HEAR it talk."
"Bah. We got worked up by that Xeon guy."
"Maybe Mark IS crazy after all."

"You damn fools, you left me to die a while ago and now you won't let me in? I have completed my mission so there is no reason why I shouldn't be let back in!"

"No, ya aren't crazy! I AM a cat and I can be useful for ya! Wanna see how good at hidin' I am before ya go trigger happy!?"

Mark now sees the figure fully through his scope.

Holy s*** it IS a cat. And... Is thatblood?

"EXPLAIN ME WHERE THAT BLOOD COMES FROM."

"That blood comes from my bag! When I said I have t' feed off bandits, I wasn't kiddin'! The only reason I know where t' go is because I stood right next t' them without 'em knowin' I was there, then killed them off when I heard what they were gonna do, since they knew the location of this base! That enough of an explanation!?"

"What... WHAT. WHAT. YOU MAY ENTER BUT MEET WITH OUR LEADER IMMEDIATELY. GUARDS, WE'RE GOING TO WORK OVERTIME. WE HAVE BEEN COMPROMISED." Mark said with a very upsetting tone.

Mark pressed the button to open the gate.

"OH AND DON'T LET THAT XEON GUY IN."

The sweeper strolled into Haven, making sure to have his sword ready to keep Xeon back.
