Unfortunately the red text includes 'USE THE FORMAT'. Which they miss. So that might not work as well as you'd have hoped, @GmK
Uh, 90% use a format, but simply in the wrong section. Having a question within the format would actually help so they check if theyre in the correct section.

The other 10% can go ******BEEEEP*****

I watched ten hours of Nyan Cat... I, am, INVINCIBLE!

(not really I quit after 11 seconds)

Anyways, maybe, just maybe, we could make it to were the format is automatic, like... You make a new thread, and the format pops up, Black, bold, underlined text. So then the have to click or TAB to each section to write thier appeal. After they write it they then can submit it, and it will already be in an easy to read, non-eye raping format!

Which server where you banned from?
This'd be an ideal addon, when I do joke ban appeals I throw that in, and expect me to throw it in regardless of if I get the right section or not. That is, if I get banned.

What if we had a subforum for ALL Ban Applications
(ie. Forums > Banned > CMP Ban Appeals / IRC-TS Ban / Lava / SMP / TNT / Zombie )

If its organized all together, the players appealing will be able to see the correct sections side by side, possibly lowering risk of confusion.

The current red text can go inside ONLY "Banned" to ensure that they pick the right server.
The correct format pending on the server could then appear at the top of its own subforum instead of the current red message - replacing the stickies, and making it visible while the user is writing the appeal at the same time...

---------OR---------
Turn ban appeals into Google Docs...

Or, just leave everything the way it is. If someone can (somehow) manage to completely ignore a giant wall of colored red text, would you really think (s)he would be intelligent enough not to get re-banned if the appeal were accepted?
Heheheh, you have apparently not experienced the true idiocy that comes with the Internet.

... I have another idea...

One that requires little changes.

How about moving all the appeals into one main forum? You know, the reason they do that is because they are "In a rush" and so post in the first one they see. If we put them all in one section, they will HAVE to look at the others before posting. Unless they have super-limited eyesite only involving seeing the letters IRC, CMP, and so on.
