Notty opened up the idea of massclaiming on post 13 of the thread, answering Mischief's question of "How do we begin this?
Ooglie lightly supported the idea on the foundation that scum wouldn't have time to create a reasonable fake claim.
Inf's response was: "Last game when notty suggested we massclaim role names I said no and it would've made the game loads easier if I didn't probably. I'm not saying no this time!"
-However, he does appear to be saying no this time
Kroppeb was the first to advise caution, reminding us of the possibility of RID.
After a page or so of memeing, Ooglie brings the idea back up, and makes sure to include that we should claim our coin amounts, too. I advise against it, and Ooglie continues to push:
Ooglie said:
role name would provide no useful information other than possibly feeding an RID ammunition
coins would also provide no useful information to town from what i can see atleast, as it could only be used to figure out how to kill someone or how many times someone can use their action
a role claim now would force mafia to have to speedily put together a claim that may not fit a situation they find themselves in in like 2+ days time & i feel like it could be possible to distinguish a fake claim by looking at how much the economic panic scale thingy shifts BUT i havent looked into that yet so dont quote me!!
but ya it also exposes useful town roles but thats what any mass claim does! its just whether the rewards outweigh the risks, which i think they will but i pretty much support a mass claim in every game ever so i guess someone unbiased should give their opinion
The bolded section in particular reading it back sounds like he's
really trying to get those claims out there. Saying "Coins would provide no useful information to town" but wanting the information in the open, knowing that it "could only be used to figure out how to kill someone." Sure feels like anti-town motive to me.
Shout out to Aqua for encouraging me to look back and find this. Ooglie, what do you have to say about this?
