well I can confirm matty is correct, I do have the power to jail, so he's telling the truth about his power at least
i genuinely cant tell if this was meant to be a throwback thursday to the tower
not sure i believe notty <3 but i guess its semi provable tonight
mattys claim seems ok? i mean it feels slightly unnecessary since inf could deem when there was enough votes to claim himself and then matty could catch him in a direct lie + now there's possibly two PRs in the open but ok but im slightly confused why inf was softclaiming like a strong(?) protection role end of yesterday but has jail which is admittedly a protection role but i wouldn't say that it would be extremely improbable for both roles to exist (i guess power/trait distribution is fairly unknown tho) so ya
I mean the role he claimed was a pretty powerful protection role, making at least two people immune from being killed each night (himself and his target). with me, that's three people that potentially have attack immunity during the night, which seems like a dangerously high amount to have, especially late-game when there's not as many options for killing left.
usually games only have 1 person immune from attacks at a time, since imagine if there's 4 townies left and the jailor and guard are both still alive and target different people - 3 of us are immune from attacks and the mafia then only have a 1/4 chance at even successfully killing someone unless they had some kind of block/unstoppable trait (which I highly doubt all the mafia have since then what's the point in mine/aqua's roles, meaning it would be possible for a scenario to exist where the mafia were powerless in that situation and did only have a 1/4 chance at killing). that potential scenario existing just seemed too town skewed/unfair for the mafia at that point. so the fact that, assuming aqua was town at the time, the setup seemed like it was unbalanced, and surely something that wouldn't be overlooked, made me convinced aqua was lying
however, I was obviously wrong about that, and I'm sorry to you all for that - I take personal responsibility for the death of aqua since it was me who got hip to hammer aqua by soft-claiming my role (at least I think it was), so that was my fault, and if we lose the game then I think that's possibly on me as well
anyway, since it turned out aqua was obviously telling the truth, I think it makes sense that the hosts were okay adding so many protections into the game because they had added multiple kills per night, and thought the two together would balance each other out. I find it pretty unlikely we have a setup with only 1 kill per night (apart from the 1 shot RID kill of course) with 3 attack immune people per night because 3 just seems way too high for a game with only 1 chance at killing per night since it risks making the death count at night too low for mafia to keep up with the game
last night I jailed TWG, and there's only 1 kill. I don't think that's a coincidence, and unless there's a second roleblocker/a third protection role that somehow got involved, or multiple kills targeted faliara (which I doubt since fali seems a weird choice as a target since she was so quiet), that means I was probably involved in that somehow, meaning either
a) I saved TWG's life from a killing
or b) I blocked TWG's attempted kill
I find b) much more compelling, because 1) I think TWG would be a an odd night kill target since he usually doesn't try to influence the thread too much and plays a pretty chill game, and hadn't claimed PR or anything (I mean I also think fali was a weird choice), and 2) I already find TWG really suspicious, and his posts today just make me even more convinced that he's scum. so rather than thinking he was a nightkill and wondering why he was, it's a lot simpler to answer that with "he wasn't, your suspicion is right, he's scum and tried to kill someone last night and you blocked it' - and that's what I think happened
the only concern I have with this theory is I wonder why they chose TWG to do the kill since I thought he'd made himself pretty suspicious after yesterday so I figured he and his team would be wary of that and not want him to do the kill in case he was blocked or tracked or something, but it's possible that he just didn't think he was that suspicious to most people (only myself and hip mentioned him I think?) so took the risk because maybe his powers are the worst in his team/he doesn't have powers, so they chose him to do the kill so that they didn't have to sacrifice their other important powers last night (only one power can be used at a time and kill counts as a power), so that concern with the theory doesn't make me doubt myself
so yeah I'd love to lynch TWG today, his reactions to my accusations have only cemented my suspicion on him, I've never seen him get worked up and crazy like that ever before, and I've also never seen him be accused when he's scum before (but I have seem him accused as town), so makes sense to me that that's what's happening right now
