Does your targeting count as a visit, and will you die along with the target or survive the night?

In that case, I'll go first.
I am the Ghoul. I target one person each night, and if I am attacked at night, the person I target dies instead.
This is a one time ability.
In addition, I received an item during the first night that protects me from night kills one time (like a bulletproof vest), but prevents me from visiting others while it is active.
As for whether my ability counts as a visit, I won't say just yet.

Would this be accurate? Removing the vest thing if you'll survive the night anyway. Need clarification on that matter.
