I remember Gaia had a similar plan to this, having a large circular city divided into districts.

I have to say, I highly support this suggestion. Not only does it look nice when it's completed, it will have a nice feel for exploration. Not to mention that all of the effort will not be looked down upon.

The only thing to worry about is the amount of space, and if we'll keep it going. All I can hope is no one loses interest, like most people in Gaia have at the time. It would be amazing to have a giant city, kind of like Mako City in Final Fantasy VII.

If we're going for a supercity, I think the radius needs to be WAAY bigger.

The radius doesn't necessarily need to be too big, since you multiply that by 4 to account do each branch.
