The main building of our apartments has a huge-ass hallway, I use it as a short cut to my apartment, but I came home on night from a party. I was either really tired or I partied too hard, but I swear. I heard someone/something breath loudly. At the moment I didn't know what to do, so I did the typical paranoid teen girl thing: run
'till now, I don't ever go near dat shit ever.

I actually prefer darkness to light, when I'm on my own. For some reason, I just feel safer in the dark, because I used to figure that if someone was after me, then they won't be able to see me as well as in the light. Secondly, when I was younger, I used to LOVE having big heavy blankets on my bed when I slept, because I felt more secure. =)

I'm gonna tell you mai story nao.

A couple of years ago I couldn't fall asleep because of this annoying, cracking, squeaky sound somewhere in my room. As I was unwillingly focussing on the sound, it seemed like it was getting louder. Finally, after an hour or so, I fell asleep. The next morning I set up an investigation in my room. I tried moving various things that I thought could have made the sound. But I got no luck and didn't find anything that could produce the same sound. So I decided to just start the day, and for that I had to leave my room. So I opened the door. But as I opened the door, I noticed something. The sound that my doorknob made when pushing it down was exactly the same as the sound that I had heard the night before. So at this point I litterally thought 'What the actual fuck' and it felt like I had discovered something that I didn't believe in has been creeping all night long in my room. I actually thought I had a visit of a ghost that night, but that all just didn't make sense to me, because first of all I don't believe in ghosts and second of all there's no reason why a ghost would be flying around in my room because nobody has ever died in the house. So at this point I simply decided to see what the next night would bring me. In that next night I got another visit and heard the cracky penetrating sound again. At this point I didn't feel like not being able to sleep again, so I immediately resumed my investigation. I obviously started at the door, but with no results. The doorknob wasn't moving and the sound came from somewhere else. It came from one of the corners of my room near the ceiling. But there was nothing there that could make a sound. The following nights I hadn't heard a thing. But later, somewhere else in the house, I heard the same noise, but way louder. Loud enough for me to distinctly determine it's origin. I followed the sound to it's source and came to the scary conclusion that the sound was produced by the heating system in our house. I went back to my room to see why and how I could hear the sound of the heating in that corner of the room. It turned out that because that corner is so empty, it probably reflected the sound of the heating that was located a meter or so from the corner. The mystery had finally been solved and I could go back to sleep normally again that night.

THE END

When used to go downstairs at midnight to get a snack at the old house, I would always run as fast as I could when running back up, because the room was dark and I was scared there was a demon or something watching and waiting, but we moved house :3.
That's exactly what I do all the time whenever I get something during the middle of the night, or use the bathroom

All those late night teamspeak discussions ;)

Jokes aside(digitalmez), lying alone in the dark, late at night, and hearing something strange. That 5 seconds when you turn where are you lying and look out the window for something out of the ordinary. Doesn't happen much, but I still get my odd moments now and again.

Also when I was younger I was terrified of break-ins. Like OCD type terrified. I'd walk to my door, make sure it's locked, walk away, 10 seconds later, come back to doublecheck. Thank god I outgrew that, having that manifest into something else would be really crippling.

1) My sense of vision is terrible, and one night I was laying in the dark. There was enough light for the fan to have a shadow, and for some reason I saw the shadow as my grandfather in his usual rocking chair he sat in (he died years ago), so I stayed up all night until there was sunlight.

2) Every time I'm listening to something loud with my headphones, I start to hear some sort of nearby quietness that feels like a ghost or something near me. Once in a while I dramatically look around. Just in case.

3) I came home from school one day, and started to relax, when I heard my closet door trying to open. The door to my room is closed all the time when I'm gone, so I was extremely creeped out, and didn't touch it for a bit. Turns out it was my cat stuck in there, who was scared shitless just like me. The good thing is that I came home and opened my closet, left both doors open to go to the bathroom, then came back and simply closed my closet door.. so it's not like my cat was locked in there all day.

4) Quite possibly the worst of all, was one winter day, walking home by myself. It was the year I had just started walking home in 6th grade, and winter came; I was finally used to the normal route home. I saw this kid in a sweatshirt walking like he was kinda mad/depressed, walking quickly. He was on the other side of the street, walking faster than me, so for fun I crossed the street and walked past him. Eventually he literally walked the same way that I did, creeping me out, but I walked pretty fast, took a right, and looked back after passing about fifteen houses and didn't see him anywhere. There was no other way that he could be near me unless he was behind me. I walked past about twenty-five more houses, and casually looked back to see him right behind me, looking at me, and I looked straight at his angry face. I just jumped a little, turned back around, and walked into my house a minute later. Very, very strange.

I am always scared that Lavender Town will get me ;-; SAVE ME PLS

Nah just kidding, one day when I was at home on the computer, my mum gone out to do some shopping, this creepy guy (the builder, I learned later) walked right into the backyard and banged on the door, yelling at me. Naturally, I ran to my room, slammed the door and screeched for about two minutes.

One time several, several years ago I walked out of my room for a bit to talk to my mother. I came back to find my door locked (I never EVER locked my door back then although it is a possibility that I could have done it accidentally) so we had to break into my window and change the lock so the new one you could open with anything, even a spoon -_-

Also I've had this dream twice I believe where I was laying in bed where my door opened and closed and I screamed and ask "Who is it, what do you want?!" terrified. Whatever it was, it had answered me although I don't remember what it replied, so it started writing on the walls with blood and it was and I screamed and screamed for help. It
screamed back but it was more of a screech that just about killed my ears. ;-;

And the other one is that one day I was on my computer and I can see a bit of my room behind me and I literally saw the side of a half body sort of muscular figure 'float' past. 3 people have died in my house (all relatives) but also that my dead uncle would be sort of attached to the house too.

Okay there is my boring ghost stories

This is something that actually scared me.
Alright, so I was in my living room with the lights turned off and the tv on. The tv closed by itself, then I learned that I sat on the remote.
Next, here's the really creepy part. Right after I sat on the remote, the lamp turned itself on. I remembered it wasn't plugged in so I screamed and ran like all hell was after me.
