Hi all! I had an idea that was wacko and crazy, but I thought about more with it, and here it is... (Key: Narrator color, Screen/automatic vote typing)New round Water or lava this round? Votes for water or lava The winner is....__________ After that vote Calm, Annoyed, Angry, Furious, Random? (I think those are the 4 different moods...) Votes for Calm, Annoyed, Angry, Furious, or Random
Again, it was crazy to begin with. But I'm thinking with some ideas from staff maybe you could adjust this a bit. The poll would be what it looks like! Edit: I screwed up the poll. Ignore the Calm, annoyed, angry, or furious part:) ~_Fr0sty_

Correct me if I am wrong, but the idea is that basically players vote for lava/water and mood? I don't think we'll see many furious/angry/annoyed/random rounds at that point. I don't think players want to gamble the risk of going to the higher moods to see lava eat through their stuff and the potential of them losing a lives/cookies. Of course, I am generalizing and that may not happen all the time, but most likely it will happen more often then not. I like the idea of random, keeps players on their toes and forces them to make adjustments to changes of mood.

As an auto vote, I could enjoy this(I even made a suggestion as an auto vote for an automated mood change). However, I agree with Kevin that I would not want this to be every round, as I would think we would get a lot more calm water rounds.

Maybe this autovote system could be implemented and only have the vote once after a few rounds(lets say 2-5) rounds. I noticed water rounds are usually furious and calm only. Not only that, it could be applied to lava rounds too.

This is a unique idea which is good but like the people above i agree that most players would vote for calm rounds myself included as a mostly do ironman and don't want to lose all my lives and cookies.

so like them i think it be good to have this once in a while 2-5 rounds as seen above OR you could make it just a vote for one (eg: lava or water) and not the other.

That would be a problem, considering that it is Lava Survival. And yes Kevin, it is to vote for water/lava and mood. Just to give the players an option. And I've been on in rounds where I vote for something and then some Controller or something boosts up their opinion just to make it fun. I would be fine with having it be every maybe other 2-3 rounds? That way people don't gang up and ALWAYS vote for calm or annoyed or whatever.

Just to clarify about my post above, I didn't mean an auto vote, where it performs an action at a certain time, like the old "End round early?" vote. I meant a vote that can be made by a trusted+ to automatically perform an action, like end the round early or release the lava early. Even then, it shouldn't be used much, as the random round type works well.

Same reason I oppose any autovote: player abuse.

How do you seeing this become player abuse? I mean, people might always vote for furious lava.. but that's not much abuse. Do you mind explaining?

The same thing that happened when players had the ability to vote to end the round after 10 mins. Players got greedy and ALWAYS voted yes even if the lava didn't flood the entire map, allowing them to get cookies faster.

If players had the choice of lava or water, they would always choose water, because no solid blocks will melt, only plants and fungi. Now that we only have water rounds, what mood will players choose? Even though it won't make any difference to what will melt, players will choose calm, because it's easier and gives you 15 seconds to get out of cold water.

This scenario doesn't get the players cookies faster, but instead allows them to get cookies easier.

Now, imagine a whole group of friends get on and they just want to royally screw over every player on the server. Every round they would vote for furious lava, thus causing players to have to spend cookies to buy sponges or die. All of the solo players would not gain any cookies for multiple rounds when the group leaves or are no longer the majority.

This scenario allows a group to cause havoc on the server.

In short... No. We already tested allowing the players to have some control over the rounds and they abused it.

Ok, I see what your saying! But, what if sometimes it was automatic lava and you could only choose annoyed, angry, or furious? Then next round you have the full vote. Or maybe some rounds there is no vote at all. But I do see what you mean Arc.
