I just don't understand why this goes viral, while electro swing stays somewhat biased. You guys must know 'Pyrous', the TF2 video with Caravan palace's song named Bambous in it. I heard this song long before it was featured in that video, and now bambous is filled with people smearing shit. I guess maybe it's good that the things I like don't go viral, people in general tend to ruin it for others because of what they think.

I have a wide variety of music that I enjoy, and electro swing is one of the types of music I love to listen to. I actually haven't seen that TF2 video, so you can't really say that, either. :x
I know how you feel with disliking certain things that get popular, but... Do you really have to act like this so openly? :x

It's a discussion, so yes. Besides, I never said that you people thought that Electro swing is shit, it's just that once it goes viral, everyone acts so stupid about it. Go check the comments on this video and tell me that it's not so that, once again, something has been ruined because of the majority of people finding out about it because of something else.
Same goes for queen's 'Somebody to love' song, which apparently was released at a later stage than Justin bieber, and therefor they copied justin bieber.

The YouTube comment section is full of the worst people in the world, who openly insult everything they can, because they feel safe behind their monitors. Many people say to not argue with people there, as it tends to go on and on forever, starting a flame war.
I wouldn't want to ruin our little forums' clarity, so could we not do this? I'm sorry.

tumblr is just redundant...
planking was atleast interesting, and every now and then impressive...
but...
The hype over a ringtone length video that has an annoying build up just to end with a 5-10 second random upper body flailing and a grotesque -burp- is just bizarre... In most cases (I havent seen any, but I'll give youtube the benefit of the doubt, since I haven't looked) it isnt even the right way to do the real Harlem Shake, and I know its intentional, to an extent, and its humorous once or twice, but really, without any consistency at all its just annoying...
I would understand if it had started as cheap fan made advertising campaign to promote an absolutely otherwise terrible song... And I would commend them for their success... But its so pointless... if you like any particular video, theres no way to replicate its essence in real life (if you even wanted to, for whatever reason) or in any other conventional manner because there isnt any consistency in any of them... @_@ Why...

Because just like the Elysium Meme Thread, you can't post a thread and not expect both sides to show up. And, like I said, I know the intention is to have fun, but fads like this have negative implications. I just think we should look at what fads like this say about the state of music and hiphop.
To be honest, I don't like memes, and I don't go to the thread at all... So that's slightly invalid.
But, I see where you're going with this. I understand that everyone has their opinions, but being a person that likes to keep things to himself, I just don't understand people sometimes.
