He's sort of like the same kind of villian as Joker from Batman IMO. Besides, did you notice he was shocked when they actually did defeat him? He tried, then he ignored their actions, and finally realised he should have tried harder.
Also, that ending was epic. Did not see a reference to Star Wars as a possibilty.

The ending is way too predictable that is seen throughout movie history. Bad guy underestimates good guy and gives them a hard time, bad guy loses due to some sort of crazy power and loses.

This was pretty much what it was like in the pilot episodes in season 1, lol. But that was still
