Guardians of Corruption and Fear
Takot approches Cyra. "Hello Cyra, its been a while, hasn't it?"
"I think it was the cave, right?"
She displayed no obvious emotion on her face, even though she was feeling uncomfortable and unsettled. "Not really. Just few hours maybe."
Takot laughed. "Thats right! I lost track of time while I was wandering away from my old body."
"Yeah, the dead one." Chills ran up her spine.
"Yeah, the dead one." Takot smiled. "I was so nieve then."
"You know," Takot continued. "I really think I ought to thank you."
That smile was a bit unnerving. "Is that a thing now? Thanking people for murders?"
"Yeah. You see, when you killed me, you set my spirit free."
"Does that mean I should go kill more people?"
"I don't know quite what happened, but when I returned my spirit to my new body, my whole attitude changed."
Takot said, ignoring Cyra's comments.
"See, I'm not the same blushing kid I was last time."
"Well I didn't really get to know you, so I didn't know if you were a blushing kid."
"I'm glad I'm not anymore."
"Congratulations?"
"Thank you." Takot smiled again.
She resisted the urge to leave this man and his creepy smiles. It was unsettling, but she would not back down. "So, are you here to join the fun, or are you here for revenge?"
"Both. The balance of this world is being shaken by your petty fighting."
"This 'Darkness' is upsetting the balance."
"Here for both the fighting and revenge eh? Did you choose a side? Or are you going to stay neutral? Well, other than the revenge part."
"Currently I'm going have to be biased toward Ross and his compatriots. I hope you and your pals wont mind to much."
"Yes, the balance must be restored."
She spread her arms. "No worries. Have fun." She smiled. "Also, when you're done with this revenge part, maybe you can meet your opposite aspect. Hope is a nice guy."
"Yeah. About that revenge bit. But first I have a question for you."
"Go ahead."
"What are you afraid of Cyra? What is your deepest, darkest fear?" Takot broke into a grin.
"I don't know. But as the Guardian of Fear you can help me with that, no?"
"Oh, without a doubt." Takot smiled again.
"Doubt is a great weapon for both Fear and Corruption. It's great that you don't have doubt," Cyra said before darkness blotted her vision again. This time it was not from the Guardian of Darkness or the loss of blood. She was standing in a void. However, she was still alive. What's with these people? Why can't they just kill her and be done with it?
Instead she stayed alive, alone in the void. No one else was around. Nothing happened. It was just her and the void.
Empty.
Completely empty and alone.
There has to be something here! Something she can move or touch or corrupt! Instead, everything's empty, neither corrupted or purified. She's the Guardian of Corruption! Corruption can bend the truth! Instead, her power's gone, too.
Empty.
She was barely aware as she grabbed her head and screamed. She wanted to claw her eyes out. Where did her powers go? Why is everything so empty? The familiar feeling of fear crept into her head.
What do I fear?
