It's not the pushing factor. See: my posts. The "slip" could very well be just a poor choice of words and I already said that. It's the other things Tim and I pointed out that currently make Mars the most suspicious player in my eyes, which is why I voted him. It's far from compelling evidence, it's just that it's Day 1 and there's hardly any compelling evidence to go around anyway. I'll take what I can.
I'll also say that the defeatist attitude isn't really working wonders for me, either. Mars has nothing to lose at this point from claiming, and the way he refuses to and accepts the votes like it's an inevitability just feels like an appeal to emotion or just him throwing in the towel, and if all it takes for Mars to do that is a few longer analyses of his posts, I'm not sure if we should want to keep him alive even if he's a townie. Which is not to say that if, say, some compelling evidence does surface that seems to prove his innocence or if he continued to try and defend himself and actually got somewhere with it, I wouldn't unvote. I would, because in that situation he wouldn't be the standout suspicion. But having a townie that's as quick to give up as Mars is right now isn't really a benefit, either.
