Hello, 1967 called they want their outdated terms back.Don't you mean Air, Trees, Water, Animals?
Mind telling us the nature of the visit?I was visited by a PR last night but im not sure if i should out him for his own sake. If he claims though ill confirm his claim.
Sure, I'll spoiler it. Anyone who doesn't care about how I attempted to decrypt the alien message myself doesn't really have to read this as it doesn't really have much to do with the gameI am suspicious of Notty I will say that but Inf does have a wild imagination so I can imagine this being one of his outlandish roles. May I ask how you deciphered the first two messages without using this 'ability'
I feel that you either arent telling us something, or just have WAY too much time on your handsSure, I'll spoiler it. Anyone who doesn't care about how I attempted to decrypt the alien message myself doesn't really have to read this as it doesn't really have much to do with the game
I started writing down the 3 phrases(but I'll keep it at 2 here since #1 didnt work out). I gave every symbol a distinct letter and then wrote the messages down using those letters. The assigning was as following:![]()
The messages were now this:
Line 2:
JAD ODUJOZDZ DPGQBTD JS G QDQCDO JS G ZYSSDODAH VBDUYDV DPBDOYDAUYAM HKYV BKDAJQDAJA ZDHGYTDZ KJI, YA KGTTNUYAGHYJAV, HKYAMV JS AGHNOD - IGHDO, SYOD, GYO, TYSD GAZ ZDGHK - ODBODVDAHDZ GAZ IDOD JSHDA GVVJUYGHDZ IYHK HKD *MJJZ*.
Line 3:
HKYAMV NAAGHNOGT - HKD UJAVHONUHDZ, CNYTZYAMV, HDUKAJTJMW - ODBODVDAHDZ GAZ IDOD JSHDA GVVJUYGHDZ IYHK HKD *DFYT*. IKYTVH YH YV NARAJIA DPGUHTW IKGH VBDUYDV HKYV GUUJNAH CDTJAMDZ HJ, YH YV CDTYDFDZ HKGH, ZND HJ HKDYO BKWVYUGT VKGBD, FJUGT ENGTYHYDV GAZ DPKYCYHDZ HKJNMKH BGHHDOAV, HKDW IDOD G QDQCDO JS HKD KNQGA OGUD.
Now obviously this is all gibberish, and the letters had been wrongly assigned(since I assigned them random, duh!). I started trying to fill in words. For example I assumed one of the words might be ZUPLAR so I tried to look which of the words could possibly be ZUPLAR. This led nowhere since the word was not included. Then I noted that 'HKD' occured quite a few times, and I took the guess that this is the english word 'THE'. So I went and replaced all H's in the message with T's. All K's with H's and D's with E's. I turned everything else into question marks. Then I got this:
??E ?E????E? E?????E ?? ? ?E??E? ?? ? ????E?E?T ??E??E? E??E??E????? TH
?? ?HE???E??? ?ET???E? H??, ?? H????????T????, TH???? ?? ??T??E - ??TE?, ???E, ?
??, ???E ??? ?E?TH - ?E??E?E?TE? ??? ?E?E ??TE? ???????TE? ??TH THE *????*. TH??
?? ????T???? - THE ????T???TE?, ?????????, TE?H?????? - ?E??E?E?TE? ??? ?E?E ??T
E? ???????TE? ??TH THE *E???*.?H???T ?T ?? ??????? E???T?? ?H?T ??E??E? TH?? ???
???T ?E????E? T?, ?T ?? ?E??E?E? TH?T, ??E T? THE?? ?H?????? ?H??E, ????? ?????T
?E? ??? E?H???TE? TH???HT ??TTE???, THE? ?E?E ? ?E??E? ?? THE H???? ???E.
I bolded two two letter words here. '?T ??' or as in the text without question marks 'YH YV'. The Y is the same letter so I took a guess and assumed it was 'IT IS'. I then changed all Y's to I's and V's to S's. When I was done I noticed a word 'S?E?IES' at the place of 'VBDUYDV'. This was clearly species so I changed the B's to P's and the U's to C's. Then it looked as following:
??E ?EC???E? E???P?E ?? ? ?E??E? ?? ? ?I??E?E?T SPECIES E?PE?IE?CI?? TH
IS PHE???E??? ?ET?I?E? H??, I? H????CI??TI??S, THI??S ?? ??T??E - ??TE?, ?I?E, ?
I?, ?I?E ??? ?E?TH - ?EP?ESE?TE? ??? ?E?E ??TE? ?SS?CI?TE? ?ITH THE *????*. THI?
?S ????T???? - THE C??ST??CTE?, ??I??I??S, TECH?????? - ?EP?ESE?TE? ??? ?E?E ??T
E? ?SS?CI?TE? ?ITH THE *E?I?*.?HI?ST IT IS ??????? E??CT?? ?H?T SPECIES THIS ?CC
???T ?E????E? T?, IT IS ?E?IE?E? TH?T, ??E T? THEI? PH?SIC?? SH?PE, ??C?? ????IT
IES ??? E?HI?ITE? TH???HT P?TTE??S, THE? ?E?E ? ?E??E? ?? THE H???? ??CE.
After this it became quite easy to guess more letters/words and I ended up getting all letters except 2(J and Z if I recall correctly since they weren't used in this text). And thus got the complete translations for lines #2 and #3.
Then I made a table showing the english letter to the alien symbol which is now outdated and useless because line #1 and Enders death message use a different kind of encryption.
Table for line #2 and #3 with the right letter for the right symbols is as following:
![]()
Don't be silly it's pronounced le-tin!I have been informed inffy does not know how to pronounce Ltin (el-tin)

I realised that every word in this text was using a different, but the important thing is that within the same word, the same letter would be encoded the same way. I suppose that's what notty did which led her to "hallucinations", "unconscious" and "understanding". There was another long word in the text separated with a hyphen, so assuming that it was all encrypted the same way I did a dictionary search on it and it returned "chemically-induced" almost immediately with 99.3% certainty. The black words were supplied by Nottykitten, the red words were brute-force dictionary search results, and the blue ones are context-filled. I wish my neighbour's dogs would stop barking so that I could concentrate on this, but I think we've got a good gist of what the text about.
It looks to me like zuplar uses the same symbol twice though?I realised that every word in this text was using a different, but the important thing is that within the same word, the same letter would be encoded the same way.
[snip]
All the other blue words were filled in based on grammar or context.

Since Ender's name is blue, it means that his alignment is town, right?Enderfive WAS -- the rest is written in strange symbols --:
