I feel that blocktopia lava server is not challenging enough. So I think that to make it more challenging, the more space you are surrounded by when the round ends, the more cookies you get.

yes well that is what the staff is for, for enforcing the rules and I think it will be challenging. And if your in trouble, you could always dig underground and make a room.

I don't really like this idea, for the fact that it squashes creativity. Let's say I didn't want to make a big house, but I wanted to make a small one. Should I be hindered because of my choices on the size of my house? Let's say I wanted to decorate my house. I wanted to put a T.V. in it, a couch, and a bed. Should I be hindered for this, because they take up space?

Also, I think this would be extremely difficult to code.

I agree with the others.
And another problem that might be encountered is that people will hoard spaces plus it would be easier to just /join someone with a huge space surrounding him at the last minute so that he could be able to get a large amount of cookies.

i like this idea regardless of the negative effects because it is very risky and useless to make a giant mansion when you could just make a 2x2 block around you that could protect you from the calm lava. I mean i would be in those instances where me and my buddy would make big towers but get less cookies then the guy who made the 2x2 wooden block. I think it would establish a way for giving out cookies then the current way which I am assuming it is at random. Also it would give a reason for people to work together to build those giant houses then everyone just going on there own and building miniature caves or tiny houses..

No. Just no. I've ended up with people demolishing my little house because it got in the way of their "large house they planned to build there". I can just see more of that now with this, and people being selfish with the space.

Basically, Sploorky summed it up.

I agree with sploork, oliver, and sephy here. Cookies over space wouldn't be fun at all.
Creativity---my favourite aspect of the server other than the players---would be crushed. People who liked building pikachus, pokeballs, little brick houses, and such wouldn't get rewarded well at all.

It wouldn't be fair for someone getting 8 cookies just because they're in a big, not decorated and not creative, house and a player in their little decorated brick house getting 2.

And indeed, it would be very hard to code.

I think we should stay with the random amounts. They reward us equally.

It's not too difficult to do, actually, it's very easy. But i'll have to agree, it's not a good idea

Actually Basic lava survival servers use the amount of space around you to decide how much money you get.

Also I think this won't be a good idea either because all your going to see is people building huge houses and not letting people in them and that will cause a lot of people complaining.

Maybe an alternative idea would be to make a minimum size of space to get cookies?

People who just live in tiny `2x1x1 holes or 2x2x2 holes don't really deserve the cookies ;) But maybe anything bigger than that would be suitable to earn some. This could squash all the problems/creative limitations we have above.

(Just my completely random 2 cents)
