"Excuse me..." Alouette only half-whispers. Even thinking about what news Airis might bring makes her feel sick...
Reaching up to grip her pendant as she walks away, she concentrates on the barely-there murmurs of her past selves.

"I'm sorry it had to end this way..."

Phantom fingertips brush her cheeks, running just below her eyes, wiping away tears she hadn't realized were forming.
Sitting on the ground at the base of a tree, she closes her eyes and tips her head back to rest against the bark. Everything seems to be happening at once, and none of it is helping steady her already unstable emotions.

She takes a deep breath; lets it out. Her fist rests just at her collarbone, the tiny turquoise heart almost beginning to leave an imprint in her palm just from the strength of the hold she's keeping on it.
She isn't in immediate danger, and intellectually, she knows it; that doesn't help. Still, her heart races, her hands tremble, she's sure she much paler than normal.

Yet somehow- with a faint feeling of unease, knowing that this isn't how she should be acting- sleep wraps around her and pushes away the outside world.
...
It's another dream world; this time she stands on wooden slats, the sound of the ocean just yards away filling the air.

"Alouette!"
She turns at the shout, and he- she doesn't know how she knows, but it's Jonah this time- grabs her shoulders, looking her over.
Startled at the sudden contact, she flinches. It takes her a moment to relax--helped by the fact that he looks so much like Ionas, though his hair is much lighter and straighter. "What?"

He just pulls her close, wrapping his arms tight around her shoulders. "I should've seen this coming..." he mumbles forlornly, "I'm sorry..."
"How...?" She asks, hesitantly resting her forehead on his shoulder. "How would you have seen any of this coming?" He's another of her aspect, she knows-knows- she can trust him.

"It's a strange thing." he admits freely, "You pick up a lot of ways to read peoples' actions when you've lived so many lives."
She only sighs, wearily closing her eyes. "And I suppose that means you'll scold me for being a fool?"
"No, not even close!" He's much more lighthearted, much more energetic than Ionas. "No, you're not nearly as old as I. I don't blame you."

Stepping back, his hands on her shoulders once again, he surveys her expression; vaguely sad, her eyes tired, she just looks back at him blankly.
"It's okay..." He says, hugging her once again, soft gray wings folding around the both of them. "You just have to learn... You can't fix everyone. You might feel like you love him, but if it's putting this much stress on you, it's really not worth it."

She just stands still, not accepting the embrace but not denying it. "...you sound like you know."
"Funny thing, that." His voice is tinged with sadness. "I do."
"I'm sorry..."She sighs softly. "I guess it's just..."
"No, unlike with you, it was my fault." His tone turns melancholy, almost... wistful? "I knew it was just going to hurt me in the end... I knew he was too far gone to be saved. But I still tried." His voice is pained, and she's sure his expression would read the same. "We both need to learn, I guess... We can't help everyone."

He doesn't completely let go- he must need physical contact as much as she at very least used to- but he does lean back again to look directly at her. Raising a hand, he gently taps her forehead. "Go on and sleep. You must need it."

Feeling at least a little better, she nods, stepping back. Everything starts to blur; she makes out a flash of movement at his chest height and figures he must've waved as she fades from the dream.
She waves back, unsure if she imagines the whisper of
'good night.'

*Airis finally found his sister. She wasn't alone. Ross was there too. And a bear. Ark is the first one to walk to him before he even reached the group*

"I don't know. I need to sit down and talk to Alouette. But in other words, Light is devasted, but he told me to tell her that he's sorry and he understands if she doesn't want to see him ever again"

((are you going to date your older self, what.))
Feeling the boy's hand on his shoulder surprised him. Normally, he'd feel hate to whoever touched him. Felt like twisting it in every painful angle he could. But for the first time, he didn't feel any of that... "I think I've talked enough for today."

((uh, mr. flashback guy, your backstory is BEING A MURDERER))
((ttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttfzsdz

Sorry, that was my face making contact with my keyboard in an agressive manner. If you look through the bloody flashbacks and read them, you can see a conversation where he once used too much magic that resulted in a taint which resulted in sadistic and homicidal tendencies.))

"...I'm going to tell her myself..." Light stood up, looking in the direction that Airis went. "I don't care if she runs away anymore..." he set off towards the camp, slowly.

The slumped overf figure walked through the treeline. Showing no intentions of agressitivity, he leans back towards a nearby tree, looking down at the ground. Not making eye contact with Airis, Ross, Alouette, or anyone... It took a few seconds before his mouth opened, and a dry, croaked sound came from his throat. "I'm sorry..."

((@Relevantpeople. I have my own wall of text. I give up.))

Ross stood and threw his hands up, dropping the orb that he'd been idly playing with for the past few minutes. "I've missed something. Actually. I've probably missed a lot of things. I tried not to notice when people started showing up here. I've literally been sitting here in silence with a bear and a tiny tiger. Seriously. I'm bored out of my mind. Light's apologized, so I'm going to take that as a 'whatever I've missed has been resolved.' So. Who wants to get another start on making this planet livable?"

As Ross spoke, spears of light (not literal spears, mind you) pierced the canopy of the jungle, and better illuminated the area. Ross could see the physical and emotion strain that had been put on the others, and he almost felt bad for them. But he was there to build a planet, not squabble...Not that he didn't like fighting, but building was more important. "So," Ross clapped his hands and gathered his things, "Who wants to help me find the rest of the others?"

((@people and who does "the others" even include any more?))
