Pick Yer Poison
is a kid now, is a squid now
So on a whim, I just decided to watch the Skyrim trailer and decided to break it down into how much of each thing there was.
For reference:
Actual gameplay: 8.6% (15s)
Landscapes: 8.6% (15s)
First-person running/chasing scenes: 12.1% (21s)
Prophetic tablet: 19.0% (33s)
Blank/titles: 20.7% (36s)
Dragon fight: 31.0% (54s)
All values ±0.5%.
Pretty iffy as far as being an "Official Gameplay Trailer" goes, innit?
These are not made up numbers. I counted the seconds for each type of scene (except blank/titles; that was everything left over) and divided those values by the total number of seconds in the clip. Most appeared a number of times in segments of two or three seconds; the longest was the final dragon fighting scene, which was a whopping 27 seconds, almost four times the nearest lengthy segment of seven seconds.
I noted this when I did it (sometime yesterday) in my Twitter feed, with these tweets.
