I don't use Instagram.
In fact, I never use Instagram because I never really see a point to using it in the first place.
Instagram is a photo-sharing website.
Minecraft isn't very photogenic; there isn't anything cool or exciting that Minecraft can really do, albeit distinguish ourselves as a Gaming group within the possibly thousands or millions of other Minecraft photo's out there.
Plus, the majority of people I know only use instagram to send pictures between friends on what they did today or something silly or funny to them or whatever.
They may subscribe to people who post interesting pictures and photos.
I don't think Minecraft is very interesting to look at unless, of course, it has some fairly fantastical builds as I have seen groups such as FyreUK have done.
Plus, It would probably really have to be up to head staff to even post anything on there.
If you, as that is what I am reading, is the person using the account to post pictures. You probably, and this goes really or any person that doesn't happen to go on a variety of servers and such, will most likely only post photo's of occurrences between you and your little group of friends and such.
How often will you post?
What is the quality of the pictures you will be posting?
Does this represent the community well? Or not as well as we really are?
What will actually be represented within the photo's themselves?
All can be possibly variables in this affair.
This idea is basically the Youtube Channel Idea.
It was proposed, though I've never seen it come into full affect, nor widely accepted.
It's a nice concept, and it may, have some small, but nonetheless menial impact unless somehow it becomes a major hit, which I honestly do doubt.
Youtube has more versatility, and can easily do a better job at showing the community than through Instagram-pictures.
Of course, we haven't exactly done anything with that either unless it's community-driven channels and content.
That's the solution.
If you want to make an Instagram to show off or make some advertisement known about Blocktopia as a whole, just do it.
It's a personal Instagram where you can just show random pictures itself.
The Instagram doesn't have to be "official" as you are making it out to be in this thread.
You are effectively asking Permission to put up pictures of the servers, which you can do anyways without it.
Just don't highlight it as an "official" source for the community as a whole, just as Youtube Commentators and videos have, and are doing right at this very moment.
Just make a personal, fan-account.
There is nothing else to the idea than that.
