I just made my house float and put a waterfall down so you can swim up. Zombies can't reach that anyway.
unless they're coming for me....

i hope you're using my stuff shiny, because i doubt we will ever come in contact on the map again :(

I really love solitude but the map is a bit too big for the player base we have playing. plus everything looks the same so it's hard to pick out landmarks. The solitude we had with the radiation during the beta version was perf in my opinion. But this is fun too :)

I'd say because it's funner when playing with other people, id personally probably play more if i wasn't stranded alone in the middle of a city.
I always thought that part of the fun of Solitude was finding other people randomly... And the only way that happens is if you have a healthy amount of people online, or by complete chance.

Still, radio towers were something that also brought people together. Maybe we could bring those back, or invest something similar?

I can agree that just coming by people would be fun but it's sorta hard with a large map that doesn't have any significant landmarks.

You should try making the map smaller. I know its called solitude but it gets extremely boring extremely quickly playing just on your own. The first solitude map size was perfect; the one with the massive crater was too small, and this one is too big. Especially since there are no landmarks.
I think this is pretty much the nail on the head. Solitude is important, but I think of the actual solitude aspect as more of a beginning chapter of a much bigger story. If someone were to play on Solitude and try to stay by themselves, they should and are able to do that, but for people trying to find others its very nearly impossible. I think definitely coords should be broken and the the like, but I also think you gotta throw us a bone or two. Radios, smaller maps, and landmarks are all great ways to reduce frustration without actually changing core elements of the server. What sticks out in my mind is on Solitude V0 (think Enclave) where I started alone for I think a few days, then found Hywel, then Digi and Duffie, and then Defiant and T1001 and it kinda spiraled after that. I wasn't hopelessly alone for the entirety of that life, nor were there necessarily too many people. (the circumstances behind the spawning mobs made the amount of people moreso acceptable) I think there are clearly defined issues in all of the Solitude servers and the thing I mentioned above is one for this iteration.

Basic Solitude Survival Guide - For those with one life

Just before dusk is the best time to start.
Grab at least 7 blocks; trees are efficient sources of blocks.
Pillar up 7 blocks (zombies can break the second and third above the ground and smash a 5 or 6 high pillar)
Collect zombies ~ don't fall off!
Wait for them all to burn; hope that there aren't any babies or armoured zombies.
Whatever you do, don't hit a pigman; this allows them to sprint after you.
If you were unlucky and have a sun-proof zombie at the base of your tower, break blocks down until you are just above the zombies, then run for it.
Beware of eating flesh, the hunger in this version is like poison for your food bar.
Find shelter, try to find seeds from grass also.
Set up home in a solitary tree or on a platform above the ground.
Grow food; also collect wood.
Once you have a stone pickaxe and a steady supply of food, you're good to go.
Ores are all over the place, just explore buildings.

Also, tips~

Always have a water bucket in your hotbar to extinguish flames from burning zombies and to push back swarms

If you can find the utensils, heal potions are amazing.
A neat stack of blocks in your hotbar to quickly pillar up is also great to have.
Keep an eye out for the little buildings with iron bar walls; these will always have items for you, and provide you with exp.
If you find an untouched library, thorough searching could bag you a diamond!

Pst also people the sewers are a great place to snatch up things as long as you bring torches.
I'd still recommend full iron and a water bucket; the spawners only have to trigger once and you'll get overrrun

Also, the trapdoors leading to under the parks lead to clay chambers, which can be harvested and smelted into zombie-proof bricks
