Or you can type and sometimes not be noticed =D
Well there are two reasons why you might type:
1.) You don't have a mic.
2.) You don't want to talk.
Simple fixes really. I can understand both. With the first, that's money to spend, and you have perfectly usable headphones, so why change anything? That's cool, but if they break, or if you want to upgrade, look into a headset or a desk mic, or a built in microphone in your computer and it makes it much easier to communicate.
The second is a little different, and I find it harder to understand why you wouldn't want to talk. Imagine if you were around a table talking to people and there were 2 silent people at the table who added their input to the conversation by sending a mass text every time they wanted to speak. That's no fun, no one wants to check that, so sometimes it leads to them being ignored. Now imagine that everyone at the table is playing a game that requires their attention a majority of the time... even worse. Come on Teamspeak sometimes and just listen to people talk if you're uncomfortable or start by joining channels with your friends only, then as you get more used to the environment you'll have less inhibitions about using your voice.
Teamspeak is easily our greatest server because the friendships you already have on the server can become stronger with more consistent and life like communication that can also be geared away from just Minecraft more easily. On top of that, you can essentially meet whichever new people you want just by joining a different channel. I understand that at the current time cliques seem indomitable, but the more people on Teamspeak, the more mingling is bound to happen and I'd love to see the environment take off. But that requires everyone's cooperation
